You're the most expensive simple girl ever then. Still, it beats buying bags and jewelry in a man's perspective LOL

Wow nice there. 2.64ghz on stock volts.
I have this feeling that you can lower vcore to 1.2v for the current speed.

Next thing to do on 240HTT is to try OCCT. I tell u, many times i've passed prime then just to have OCCT shatter my dream within minutes.

bro, from my past experience, phenoms don't really do well with extra vcore, u can verify this w/ bro cyloh.  tongue.gif

it's unethical to rma burn chip due to our own fault.  smile.gif
*
phenom spec on the amd page is stated stock vcore at 1.15/1.2/1.25v
when i just got my mobo, it was running at 1.15v default. i think due to the months of bios updates,
now everyone calls 1.25v as phenom's stock volt.

somemore my mobo got...err izit vdroop?? so i can somehow actually run on 1.13v LOL..

bro ah_khoo, dun mind too much about nb multi. dropping nb multi might make you climb HTT easier,
in my own experience, phenoms dun enjoy low nb too.

maybe try pci set to 64 instead of 32??? smile.gif smile.gif

edit:
i suspect imsmiko will come back real soon. nobody truly quits oc'ing. not for long... muahahaha

bro, i know that nb freq should always be higher than ht link. but in my case d ht link is hoverin @ 1.6~1.7k (IIRC) but d nb freq is @ 2.2k, which i think is abit too high.  sweat.gif

rest assured i'll try my very best to achive higher clocks... 2.8GHz could be possible for sp 1m, i'm targettin 2.7GHz prime stable currently...  biggrin.gif
just get my new toy, sumthing big & windy...  brows.gif

i gotta ride on d tren for 1.5hrs (back & forth) just to get this stuff @ knock down price...  yawn.gif

Somehow i remember reading on xs that ax78 and tweak nb multi... just urs cannot?

Hehehe picture please for the heatsink in action.( i assume u buy hsf... )

QUOTE(8tvt @ Aug 7 2008, 03:02 PM)
actually u r lucky enough to get low stock voltage.. the proc can OC better..
phenom can run @ 1.1v also..
*
I'm quite confident a 9500/9550 can run 2.4ghz at 1.1v... if given the option in the bios.

i see 3.6GHz on ya quaddy, well done bro...  thumbup.gif
*
Well well, even if you maxed out at 2.8ghz.. not too shabby for a phenom 2.2ghz right?
Somemore with good vcore there i see. Previously i struggled for even 2.6.... so I guess
B3 stepping does make a whole big difference. Who knows... once SB750 gets in your
hands, we might see u do a 3~3.1ghz just on a 9550. thumbup.gif

Without going off topic too far.. my quad on that speed is eating 1.55v to be stable.
Dangerous....

Even I will jump ship back to AMD... after seeing the so called deneb hitting 4ghz at 1.4v.
Will hold out till Deneb matured abit and when AM3 comes.

what heatsink you use?
see in windows via Everest on the temp.
is the casing ventilation good?
bios updated to the latest?

Owh... u tease sweat.gif
I opened the SS full of excitement.. to see vcore at 1.24v.
My heart skipped a beat... can this be? 2.8ghz at 1.24v??? rclxm9.gif
Then i saw 2.64ghz.... doh.gif

Still, its great to see you hit 2.6 with stock vcore. thumbup.gif

Was looking through your mobo bios.
Under SoftMenu Setup there is this -> NB/SB A-LINK Clock.
That smells abit like the ACC in SB750. Mess around with it bro, who knows higher clocks smile.gif

What options u have under HT Link Control page?

waa... ya request is gettin tougher & tougher leh...  sweat.gif

Hehe... i reckon you can hit 3ghz on 1.3~1.325v. NB might be an issue though.....

Despite the powah of darkside... still boot into windows slower than my stock phenom last time.

Will lose, cause bro ah_khoo's crossfire way more powah than my little 9600GT.

not really way more powa lah bro, as we all knew single 9600gt pwn single 3850 anytime...  wink.gif

btw, no harm tryin @ 2.8GHz, i would like to see how big is d diff between core 2 quad & lousy phenom clock to clock wise.  biggrin.gif
@ AMDAthlon

is the source reliable? they even stated d wrong clock speed for 9850 leh...  doh.gif

9850 should be 2.5GHz, only 9950 is on 2.6GHz if i'm not mistaken.  smile.gif

Lousy phenom? Don't be so sure yet.... here ya go bro ah_khoo.

Hey guys, I'm new to this OC scene and it will be great if all of you can enlighten me so that I can push my phenom higher. Is this the optimum that my phenom can go? as I was trying to push the bus speed more than 240 but it just won't boot. I'm using DFI LP DK 790FX board.

Its a toliman! Where's mr_habuk to help in this??? whistling.gif

Did u tweak HT Link & NB multiplier? Or was it default like that?
Kinda wayyy too low for a phenom.

1.328v is too much for 2.5ghz. I doubt u'll need that much.

bro, let's admit it. amd never gonna overtake intel even if u compare a deneb to yorkfield. deneb could go near or slightly better than yorkfield (i really doubt this) on same clock speed, but when u start crankin up d fsb, deneb will still find it hard to catch up w/ yorkfield in term of MHz. from d review, deneb needed an unhealthy amount of voltage to reach 4.0GHz which definitely not meant for 24/7, while in yorkfield u can simply increase a lot of clock w/o d need of insane voltage.  smile.gif

as for d price cut, i dun think imsmiko can wait til it's effective. imo it'll take months for that. waitin game is not so pleasant for those who can't wait...  tongue.gif
actually am2/am2+ oc are not as hard as u think if u have experience w/ s939. they're just upgraded architectures of d great old k8.  biggrin.gif
*
Well, there's a thin chance that AMD might drool.gif
But back to reality, most probably AMD will never win in darkside in terms of powah.
What I want from AMD is they truly stick to their "price vs performance" motto when coming up with their future products or pricing.
ATI has done that, now I await patiently for AMD.

yup, it's simple. if they can't win over intel in term of performance, then they gotta beat intel in term of price while offerin "not so lousy" performance.

i'm impatiently waitin for ya amd comeback bro.

Will b back soon. How soon depends on how late deneb comes cool2.gif

QUOTE(yamakashi @ Aug 14 2008, 10:37 PM)
Hey guys, I manage to increase the bus speed to 250 after i bump up the HT and NB multi. When I test this settings with Prime95 for 5 mins it is ok but once I increase the bus speed to 252 while running Prime95, the PC hang or just restart itself. So I try to increase the core voltage and RAM voltage but it is the same. Any suggestions?
*
Try to add NB/SB volts too.... may help.
Take ur time any try things around. I think ur bios has alot(too much?) options to tweak.
