Why would you need her to be connected all the time? Are you supervising her?

All I'm saying is that I had not tried Skype on 3G, and I dont feel inclined to. Spotty connection while my Skype credit is running, is not an idea I have in mind.

Unless I'm waaaaay outdated and there is a free Skype connection that I dont know of.

Me? I use iChat most of the time to talk to my better half in LA.

Why am I up so early?

MH603, NWZ-A829B, MH610 & DR-BT50.

See if that's cryptic enough for you. tongue.gif

A certain southern republic awaits.

Where in the world is Stringfellow? Well, someone challenged me that I couldn't get that NWZ model and he's about to be proven wrong. Never put a challenge up my face, including the challenge of getting the iPhones. Stringfellow never backs away from one.

Ehem ehem? Banging one or getting hitched? As long as I still can't shake off this impression that getting hitched=prisoner, I'm gonna stick to what I do best: Life and living it. tongue.gif

Anyway, that NZW-A829B will probably go into another "Journey" thread in the Audiophile section in this forum. We'll see how it goes.

Hehehehhe  thumbup.gif

BTW, what is so special about this NZW-A829B ?
*
Bluetooth audio without the previous compromise. Pair this with DR-BT50 and it is as good as listening
on wired Sennheiser or Beyerdynamics. And the 16GB NWZ-A829 isn't available locally, the largest Bluetooth Walkman being 8GB only. And the final clincher/ insult to the Malaysian market, price after conversion is RM1050, while the 8GB here is RM999.

Ticket's free, and there's even a SonyStyle in the Changi airport Terminal 3! Land, shop, and fly back. MH is nothing but a bus to me, as do how they treat us like bus drivers themselves.

Put those numbers and alphabets into Google and you'll get the picture. As I recall, some of the arseholes trolling me loves to troll my posts when it comes to gadgets with these model numbers flying around in my posts, I'm just gonna see if they're gonna take the bait. They've been pretty quiet lately after being put into place. laugh.gif

Yeah, T3 just opened this year so the amenities would be pretty sparse. I'm just glad I don't have to go to Bugis or Orchard to get the A829B.

String,

How's your 3g baby doin?  Hope its fine, scary to hear 'bout the cracks as reported in some websites. Me, am waiting for my friend to fly to NZ this month to get mine. Then only can join your club. Maybe you switch to Tony or Richard outfit maybe can get better than Idris......or you end up worse....
*
Doing good, listening to "We Made It" by Busta Rhyme & Linkin Park. That would be the theme song to use when all is said and done later. No cracks on mine whatsoever.

As for the outfit I'm with, it is a choice between flying like a bus company but with job certainty (although that certainty is dwindling by every MoU we signed) or going with other outfits with good pay in USD but gets treated like second-class citizens, like how we treat the Indons here. Which would you pick? tongue.gif

Bro,

U know your industry best. Got one nephew who used to work for Idris now with SIA due to non renewal of contract.
Anyway how's the 3G speed for internet usage? Hopefully it is fast and HSDPA level then safari would be impressive. If wifi usage on 1st gen is anything to go by, I believe Iphone 3G should be much faster.
*
3G speeds are Wifi-like, very fast....PROVIDED you are inside coverage areas. EDGE coverage on DiGi are more extensive than 3G on Celcom, this I have observed while I was in the ERL train to and from KLIA. Plenty of blind spots for Celcom 3G, while the EDGE, while slow, chugs along nicely.

Posting this from Changi's beautiful Terminal 3. This airport DESERVES its World's Best awards, Terminal 3 is a work of art! The whole airport atmostphere is so conducive, you cant help but to gape in awe at its beauty. Passangers, strangers among each other, because of the atmosphere around here, just simply cant help but be nice to each other....there's something about Changi that gets people in the chatty mood. KLIA is simply drab and depressing.

I'm here just less than an hour, and already bought the NZW-A829B in SonyStyle and MobileMe in iStudio. Yes, they have SonyStyle AND an Apple Premium Reseller in a bloody airport, for God sake! Videogames, watches, designer clothes, ....you name it, Terminal 3 is the place to shop. No wonder they named it Shopping City,....and it is tax-free!
The NZW-A829 I bought ended up at RM890, and free LEATHER case, screen protector, and a leather neckstrap! Fcuking AWESOME!

Gotta go, need to check myself in for the return flight. How I wish KLIA is like Changi! sad.gif

@stringfellow,
8.31AM is NOT early!  It's a good thing U haven't lost me in your cryptic codes except I definitely would prefer the iPhone 3G to the uhm...... it! tongue.gif  Perhaps U could consider loaning me ur 3G when U get this new toy; smile.gif please please please, prettty pretty please? tongue.gif

tongue.gif Already got it, on the way back.

Technically, im still here. Terminal 2, already passed Immigration Singapore. Can easily take the Skytrain to Terminal 3. The ticketing officer (who is exceeding cute!) was a bit surprised when she saw me wanting to check-in early, but after I told her about wanting to explore Terminal 3 further, she smiled understandingly. Even the locals are taking trips down to Terminal 3 just to look-see at the amazing architechture.

Posting this from Terminal 2, I'm off for more window-shopping at T3! Pray that the window-shop doesnt turn into actual ones. tongue.gif

No piracy or direct links, or it will be reported to the authorities. If others dont report, I will. These apps are the result of hard work, and I dont like results of hard work not being rewarded as it should.

Youtube have most of the worthwhile apps, just search for them there.

NZ iPhones family just blossomed into double digits today....... All 16GB Tumpang guys, I HAVE YOUR iPhone 3G with me RIGHT NOW! rclxm9.gif

More crazy stories, my adventures looking for these iPhones, to come later. A new thread chronicling these events, plus new owners impressions can be directed to this new thread, to come later.

SUCCESS!

To those wanting to collect their iPhones, I'll be at the same venue we meet last time today. To the 8GB folks, I have 3 of you wanting me to hold on to your funds, 1 person already refunded, and 2 unknown status(refund or hold).

PM, SMS or call me to confirm/ update your status.

To the remaining 5 in my Tumpang, my window of opportunity has closed, looks like Auckland flight went on schedule without anyone falling sick, or being pulled to do other flights.

Looks like it is next month for Auckland, if any. sad.gif

This article is the reason WHY iPhone 3G is priced so expensively in KL, the case in KL should be identical to the Phillippines, until them Pinoys have their own official launch.

QUOTE
Several independent reports indicate that gray market iPhone 3G has landed in the Philippines. Apparently, there are plenty of them coming in from neighboring Hong Kong.

iPhone 3G Philippines

The price — a cool Php61,500 for the 8GB. The cost includes the mandatory 2-year contract from the HK telco (Hutchison Telecom) reselling the iPhone 2.0 for Apple. The 24-month plans in Hong Kong costs ~$64/month for the unlimited data plus minutes while a lowest plan only costs ~$24 a month but will have an initial fee of ~$377.

That means, a fully contract free iPhone 3G 8GB in HK will set you back (24 * $24 + $377) a total of $953 or roughly Php43,000.

In any case, you can actually fly to HK overnight and spend less than Php50k for the entire trip with an iPhone 3G in tow.

http://www.pinoytechblog.com/archives/ipho...d-at-greenhills

Translate that PhP61,500 into RM and you get RM4575 for 8GB alone. So, whichever idiot that buys them from the current cutthroats in LowYat Plaza, or in this forum itself, are paying for the seller's call plans. Even if it cheaper than that, you are also partially paying for the seller's plan, and he stands to gain more than you do. Do no fall into this trap!

Willing seller I can understand, greed is plain understandable. But willing buyer here = voluntarily putting your head on the chopping block, for them to decapitate you! You dont want to be a headless chicken , do you?

Trying to make sure those potential buyers know what they are getting into. All these "iPhone 3G US Unlocked" silliness can cost them a pretty penny. If we have provided them with the info and they still want to get it, it is their loss lah. I've done my civic duties. icon_rolleyes.gif

Looks like a "pretend noob" went in and stir the pot a little with his "try to look innocent but we entertain his gullibility nonetheless" nonsense in one of the locked threads in this forum.

Whether he has

1 - grudges against the stances against noobs specifically,

or

2 - a case of a jealous fanboy cannot stand to see the iPhone 3G gets the attention it deserves,

or

3 - he was really noob-clueless on the status of unlocks of the iPhone 3G but tries to cover up his tracks to make it looks like he knows

,nobody knows for sure.

But if you can smell jealousy and/or idiocy, the air was thick in it in this thread, coming from his direction alone. Too bad he cut his hijinx short, I have oodles of things lined up to entertain his cause.

You're as transparent as a pasty white redneck, boss. Must have ran out of things to say in his topics in Kopitiam, PDA and Handphone sections to come over and illicit cheap thrills. Maybe waiting for a single measly response in his "tumbleweed quiet" thread about "Handphones with soul", that drove him to this silliness. Pathetic.
