CL: England v Italy in last 16!
QUOTE It's England v Italy in the Champions League last 16 as Juventus draw Chelsea, Roma get Arsenal and Inter meet Manchester United. Juventus conquered Real Madrid to win Group H, but were harshly treated as they drew the West London giants, who Ranieri led between 2000 and 2004. Roma, who beat Chelsea to win Group A, have also been paired with London giants in Arsenal. But arguably the pick of the round sees Jose Mourinho's Inter take on European champions Manchester United. Inter were left to rue finishing second in their group after a costly defeat against Werder Bremen, but the Special One had claimed that he wanted an English tie. The first legs will be played on February 24 and 25 with return matches on March 10 and 11. Last 16 draw: Chelsea v Juventus Villarreal v Panathinaikos Sporting v Bayern Munich Atletico Madrid v Porto Lyon v Barcelona Real Madrid v Liverpool Arsenal v Roma Inter v Manchester United ranieri will face his old club .. |

Del Piero and Chiellini nominated for UEFA Top 11 With the year drawing to a close, the initiatives to award the best players of the last 11 months are on the increase. Even the UEFA official website has launched a voting system for the award of Team of the Year 2008. 60 candidates have been nominated from amongst which will be chosen the best 11 players and the best coach. Amongst these are the names of two Juventus players who left their mark both in the national championship and in Europe: Alessandro Del Piero and Giorgio Chiellini. Del Piero will be competing for one of the places in the attack. The captain was amongst the protagonists of the first part of the Champions League 2008/09 and with four goals scored (apart from the one in the preliminaries) is in the top scorer list. One of his goals, the one scored at the Olimpico against Real Madrid has been classified amongst the 10 most beautiful goals. Great exploit by Chiellini. After a great European championship during which he was one of the best players of the unlucky azzurri squad, the player from Livorno confirmed himself as being a pillar in the defence even during the first matches of the Champions League, even scoring a goal in the first leg against Artmedia Bratislava. Giorgio is a candidate for one of the positions of central defender. The Team of the Year will be chosen by the supporters, who can vote on-line on www.uefa.com up to the 12th of January 2009. Del Piero was also voted in the list of best European players for the past 50 years in the UEFA Golden Jubilee Poll. In the year 2000, Del Piero was the world's best-paid football player from salary, bonuses and advertising revenue. Currently, Del Piero is still the highest earning Italian Player. Along with three awards in Italy for gentlemanly conduct he has also won the Golden Foot award, which pertains to personality and playing ability. go DEL PIERO...GO GO GO!!!!! |

Anybody knows any transfer rumors for Juve? So far I heard Hamburg ace Ivica Olic and Gallas from Arsenal. And Ranieri already denied transfer of Diego from Werder Bremen.

QUOTE(FcukChick @ Jan 2 2009, 11:14 PM) Hi fellow juve fans Bro, I dont know what u mean? Do you mean doping? Dont simply say stuff!but kinda dislike juve on PES 2009. dunno y too weak anyway..... hope heaven will drop a juve jersey for me tomorrow Added on January 8, 2009, 3:31 pm QUOTE Juve target French stopper Wednesday 7 January, 2009 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The French Press are linking Juventus with PSG central defender Mamadou Sakho. The Bianconeri aren't expected to spend heavily during the January transfer window, but they could make some small additions to the squad. According to L'Equipe, the latest name on the Old Lady's radar is that of 19-year-old stopper Sakho, who can play in central defence or as a left-back. Sakho has 18 months left on his current deal with PSG, where he became the club's youngest ever captain at the age of 17, but is stalling over a contract renewal in the French capital. Juve scouts have been spotted watching the former France Under-17 captain but the Turin giants may face competition from Arsenal and Newcastle. From Channel4.com Not necessary to get this player is he is too pricey. We can give more chance to Criscito! Come back and play for us when you are ready! Added on January 10, 2009, 8:05 pmThe 1st match for Juve in 2009 is against Siena. Hopefully we can have a very comfortable win! Forza Juventus.
