Hi fellow Innov8-ers!

Seriously interested in getting one. Wanna upgrade from SE W810i. Do enlighten me pls. Is there any different between a SG set and Msia/local set. I came across a good offer on an SG 8GB set, a used set for less than 2K. This is definitely not an FMG/ori set right?!

Should I be cautious despite it being a frickin good deal?!

Well i have to create a playlist coz i need to separate my songs and quran verses.. can't mix those 2 together.. and if i just play all randomly surely will include my loads of ringtones as well.. thats why i have to create playlist thru phone.. never tried it thru pc though.. ow just realize my photo gallery also quite laggy..

Barcode reader?? never tried before.. as far as i know, innov8 only comes with business card reader right?? so its sensor can be utilized as barcode reader as well? interesting

EDIT : Ehhh.. adding song in your phone was smooth?? now there must be something wrong with my innov8.. my playlist consists of more than 50 songs but the thing is its already lagging when i tried adding the first few songs.. everytime i add it will lag you know.. ya.. adding song one by one is really a hassle..

I think that standby screen is only meant for phone carrier's user.. you know, those customized menu made by vodafone etc etc.. IINM laa too bad actually.. i love that standby screen..

By the way bro.. i think its a great upgrade if you were from w810 as this phone is worth it.. well Sg or Malaysia is just the same in terms of build quality, all come with the same original warranty but differ in countries of coz if you wanna claim the warranty. I lol at one seller who told me the "Malaysia Ori Set" build quality is far greater than "SG set".. i think he thought SG set is an AP set..

Anyway there was a lot a lot of 2nd set of 8GB for less than rm2k last time i found here on the net.. heck even my FMG Malaysia 16GB just cost me rm2k.. so what do u think my deal was?? so in your case, its nothing special here.. u might wanna consider other deals first though.. good luck.. hope you can join this little club soon

Things to be caution, make sure you check the battery life ( i dunno how.. coz your testing time may be limited but do take note on this ).. And do try install some 3rd party apps.. some owners here are not able to install 3rd party apps.. whats the use of symbian if your phone behaves like that..

Now I understand why you need to create play list. But so far I haven't found other ways to create playlist yet. Even when I need to backup my phone data, I need to transfer out all my music and video files to PC. If not the backup file will have big file size.

I only test using few songs and didn't see any problem and it was smooth for me. But I believe there are possibility there will be problem if playlist have a lot of files added.

Innov8 has smart reader, but it is only for business card and text scanning. It don't have barcode scanner installed by default. I'm not sure if the camera sensor can use to scan barcode as I do not have sample to scan now.

Yeah, I hope to have this standby screen as well but seems like we are out of luck here.

Wow, you bought a FMG Innov8 16GB for 2K?! I'm like seriously green with envy now. I definitely will be on look-out for other deals as well. Where did you get urs?? Mind pointing me to the rite direction if u happened to come across other GREAT deals such as urs.

It appeased me somewhat to finally knw that SG and Msia/local set are both original. *me lack of knwledge on these things* I get confused with the terms ori, ap and whats not. If dats the case, then it will be a hassle for me if I owned an SG set then...in case sumthing happened to my newly acquired Innov8. Will factor in dat fact in my decision making.

Battery life? I think Ive read enough to knw that the phone sucks up battery big time, im willing to deal with dat. Already take note to implement all those battery saving tips other Innov8-ers have advised to do so. As for the inability to install 3rd party apps, Im jus hoping Samsung do take note and update the FW to resolve those issues.

Well as for 3rd party apps i dunno whats the cause of the problem as our fellow owner here, corad had updated to the latest FW and yet to be able to install 3rd party apps.. so maybe u can at least try install 3rd party apps before u purchase bro..

Just tried creating playlist ( *.m3u) from my lappy just now and apparently my Innov8 did manage to recognize the file as a playlist. However it couldn't manage to open the file, kept saying "the file is corrupted. Operation is cancelled." Sigh

Anyway just now i was typing quite a lengthy sms and when it reached 3 pages it automatically transformed to mms.. have any of you guys experience this before??

Lets just say I'm going at it with blind faith. I doubt the seller wud let me try installing 3rd party apps. And, not to mention, if I do buy it *ehem, I'm like 98% sure I'm gonna buy this monster*, it will be my first Symbian smartphone. I have no experience owning a smartphone watsoever. I'm upgrading from a feature phone (SE W810i) to a Symbian smartphone (Innov8). I'm just hoping the learning curve is not dat steep.

Well.. if that happens lets hope you can install 3rd party apps later own.. symbian without 3rd party is no fun Anyway my gf also upgraded from w810 to n79 recently and at first it was quite tough for her to get use to symbian but after few days okay d.. just make sure u read the manual ( this is what i told my gf when she asked me all sorts of questions ) so if 98% that i should welcome you into the club already

Hmm..i would bought it if the phone is less than 2k or around 1.9k with the condition the phone is ori and new.I dont need the 8gb memory card yet..so where can find it?

Impossible for the seller to sell an ori set without ori package.. unless u bargain with him and i believe ditching 8GB Micro SD will reduce the cost for about rm50-rm75 only, so it would be utterly useless if u are targeting for less than rm1.9k for a new one.. maybe possible for 2nd hand, but you can try though and do inform us once you succeed. Gambare!!!

New Battery ya? Do inform us the cost once you buy it.. might gonna need one in the future too..
