Hi fren, do u wan 3M thermal tape or thermal paste/grease? Normaly for CPU, i would recommend thermal paste/grease whereas for RAM sinks etc., it's good 2 use thermal tape. biggrin.gif

QUOTE(jaycee @ Oct 4 2008, 10:04 PM)
hi,

i need to get some thermal paste. had to dismantle the heatsink my old p4 cpu, now i believe the cpu temperature is too high (between 55C and 65C).

what is the size i should use for a P4 2.8ghz?

can i order 4 sets?

thanks.

Hi fren, i would recommend the use of thermal paste (thermal compound) for VGA cooler instead of thermal tape. Thermal tape would be suitable for VGA cooler's ram sinks. biggrin.gif

QUOTE(Terence573 @ Nov 3 2008, 10:37 PM)
hmm i'm finding thicker thermal tape for 3rd party vga cooler use.

Hi fren, normaly we don use thermal tape together with thermal compound.... for processor heatsink with clip, i would recommend the use of thermal grease/compound.... thermal tape is recommended for heatsinks w/out clips...

QUOTE(sinki87 @ Nov 17 2008, 12:13 PM)

Hi fren, yes, it's good, but thermal tape n thermal paste r used in different applications.

May i know where or for wat purpose do u intend 2 use? Maybe i can give u some recommendation? biggrin.gif

QUOTE(mozakiboy @ Dec 11 2008, 11:33 PM)

Hi fren, may i know where or wat components do u plan 2 stick? Thermal tape is more suitable for small heatsinks w/out clip. For bigger heatsink like cpu heatsink with clip, thermal paste would be more suitable. smile.gif

QUOTE(mozakiboy @ Dec 12 2008, 11:03 PM)
I see, cause thermal paste very very messy to used, thought might wanna get this and just simply stick it..hehehe

Hi fren, yes, 3M is good... branded with high quality... Thermal tape, thermal pad & thermal grease have different application purpose...

QUOTE(kisuke_77 @ Mar 25 2009, 10:32 PM)
3M is good. I used to have 3M 8805. Quite good and it is better than sekisui IMO. However Thermal grease has better heat conductivity...

Hi boss,

I'll PM you tonight with the size of thermal tape that I needed. (Didnt know there are multiple type of thermal tape  sweat.gif )

Prior to that,

I'm in KL, how long does it take to deliver to KL (assuming that I'll be doing a fund transfer direct to your bank account)?

Need it on an urgent case, as my heatsink dropped off from my GC already.  laugh.gif

hi fren, u r welcome
u can consider 3M™ THERMAL CONDUCTIVE ADHESIVE TRANSFER TAPE 9885 due to ur small heatsink no clips and no screws.

coz double sided of 3M™ THERMAL CONDUCTIVE ADHESIVE TRANSFER TAPE 9885 are sticky smile.gif

QUOTE(totally_skint @ Apr 22 2009, 01:47 PM)
Can I use thermal pad to re-attach small passive heatsink to old 3D card?
It fell off.

The GPU is an ancient GF2 MX.
Small heatsink, no fan, no clips, no screws.
