hope you guys realise that there's a Malaysian iTunes store now, accessible from the Country dropdown at the bottom of the iTunes store page. limited to the App Store at the moment, but it accepts MALAYSIAN-issued credit cards!

now that's something to smile about.

Before you get your hopes up, the iTunes store is most probably done to facilitate the iPod Touch here and to enable Malaysian owners to get Apps for their Touches. I'd rather be the stubborn pessimist than a gullible hopeful.

The moment the Malaysian iTunes store starts offering purchases beyond Apps is the time when you will see Malaysia getting its own iPhone and iPhone activation. Typical for things around here to go on its accustomed pace: sloth-like slow.

it wont work yet...your iphone must be running OS 2.0. Just wait for Dev team to release a jailbreak method. I also downloaded some free apps standby ade.

Already bought Super Monkey Ball, but no platform to run it on.

Just posted on Gizmodo, Firmware 2.0 is now available on iTunes itself. Pre-download it and WAIT until the unlock is made available.

EDIt:Funny, still says 1.1.4 as the latest. Even a couple of Gizmodo posters from NYC still not getting 2.0. Did Apple withdraw it again?

Added on July 11, 2008, 7:37 pmUntil we get an unlock for 2.0. or someone with a legit contract-planned 3G iPhone uses it on iTunes to get the Apps onto their iPhones, we wont know.

If it is anything like the iPod games, you'd have to select the Apps with checkmarks on the App tab, possibly.

Whats the diff between the last one posted?

install iTunes 7.7. connect your iPhone, click Check for Updates. it will say Firmware 2.0 Available. select Download Only.

Just some info on the earlier post.

The firmware for 1st Gen iphone is iPhone1,1_2.0_5A347_Restore.ipsw release today while

the firmware for 3G iphone is iPhone1,2_2.0_5A347_Restore.ipsw which was release yesterday on apple server.

The difference is on the iPhone1,1_2 and 1,2_2 digits. Sorry for not posting this earlier.
