QUOTE(fatboythin @ Sep 3 2008, 11:34 PM) What was the JCM900 doing in the studio in the first place?! Too precious of an amp to let 'tube amptarded' people fiddle around with. JCM900 isn't exactly Marshall's best =pGood service mahhhhhh, would you pay 20 bucks for a studio with a MG100 or would you pay 25 bucks for a studio with a JCM? Heck I'd do it for a Blues Jr.!!! xD |

Carry in broad day light, sure it's easy.
Stealing something that weighs so much and not knocking over things in midst of the panic, not everyone will have the same steady hands (unless that person has been stealing all their life). It's worse when it comes to stack amps. 20 kg probably for light combo amps. For stacks you'd probably have a 15-25 kg head and a massive cabinet. So yeah, stealing amps not really a 2 men job unless they had all the time in the world. |

Hey guys, it's a little off the metal topic but
I'd like to ask which airliner would be the best if I intend to hand carry my guitar w/ hardcase? I'm considering SIA since it's quite a lot cheaper than MAS. Destination would be Melbourne, Australia. Thanks. |

QUOTE(Mr. Z @ Sep 8 2008, 07:49 PM) Blacktrix: SEMI HOLLOW FTW!! Well, I tested a Rm3.2k Ibanez acoustic, all maple, and when they had great note separation on chords, they sounded real bad when you play more of a fingerstyle song.lol... just get the dot, it aint that bad... and its cheap too.. I saw a similar SX semi hollow, but i dun know hows the tone, since SX is in woh fatt, dun like testing guitars while being stared down by the auntie.. lol I think the ibanez acoustic are quite good too if you are looking for acoustic.. but nowadays i like to look for underdogs, lol. maybe samick, or sx or some chaplang brand that is freaking cheap but still sound good. i heard there is a brand call J.D. or something that is bloody cheap but good tone wise. High performance to price ratio. Too quite, the bass lacked depth. =| For that price, I'd rather top up 200 and get a BREEDLOVE!!!!! xD And for JD, I got my friend to get one for bout 500, Dreadnought, Spruce top and Ovankol body. Sounds prettttty good for 500 (doesn't most dreads?) so yeah, for JD, it's not bad for the money xD |

wow by 150 aud?
250 sounds steep i guess i recall reading the bandit is pedal friendly, so if you got something to color the clean channel for a dirty tone, then it's all good i guess but take that with a pinch of salt man, i've only played with the bandit 112 a couple of times, clean n dirty sounds alright to me. |

QUOTE(fatboythin @ Sep 12 2008, 12:52 AM) Getting back to the topic of this thread, you guys should check Chris Feneer out. Quite possibly one of the best guitarists on Youtube. I recall trying to learn technical difficulties bout a year ago.I have never seen anyone cover Technical Difficulties this good and even put some of his own licks in there!!! *drools* THE INTRO RIFF IS SO HARD then finals came, and I got myself an excuse to stop learning. I suck that much =( |

Speaking of which, I used to use .49-.11 on my lp before going to .42-.09
.11s sounds a wee bit thicker, plays real nice for bluesy stuff like gary moore since i used a guitar with a floating bridge, i have been using .42-.09s since initially it was quite hard to control the bends but it's all good now tone wise its only very slightly thinner and brighter, but you can go on playing for hours 11s tire me out of after about 2 hours or so (with alot of bends and vibratos) at one point my fixed bridge guitar was on .49-.11 and my floating bridge .42-.09 changing between gauges was pain in the *** so.... i'd suggest you choose a gauge and stay there. .10s is actually a good balance of tone and playability i guess p/s .56 - .13 on acoustics are awesome xD |

Actually epoxy is quite easy to work with, provided you use the 1-hour bonding time types. For people with extremely sensitive skin might be a problem but just by wearing gloves it should be all good.
If the chip didn't have any irregularities (means the piece fits back perfectly) you can actually stick it back to the point that it's hardly noticeable (unless you look real hard) Simon does a pretty good job so don't worry. Speaking of which I haven't visited his new place since he moved. |
