Hi guys, I recently came to know about this Taiwan brand called DRC forged wheels.

Has anyone purchased and use these rims? Please share input if any.
*
my buddy got a set for his 45... he's very happy with it for that competitive price..
one thing he comment that is if you change wheels frequently then you will have hard time selling off.. drc customized based on ur car spec... you will have smaller market when you wan to sell off the rims.. and the 2nd hand value will not be as strong as those ori oz/rays/hre those...

Raxer seems good, nice designs with decent lightness.
It's good quality, got many high end buyers. One of my Evo friends bought a set ftom them.
*
Saw a few raxer and yes..really light weight for 18 inch.. but too bad.. most of the raxer come with 18x8.5 which will too flush for my car...
im having real hard time to find 1 18x8 with +45 offset... End up go with advanti storm s1.. finally able to find 1 with king of rims..

Seems like it's really hard to find genuine 17 inch PCD 5x120 aftermarket wheels. Advanti and Konig distributors don't even want to bring it in here.

The only remaining options are to special order / ship, or probably approach DRC.

Guys, I'm new to car tyre stuff. I got question:

If my car tyre is 13 inch, but I wish to change sport rim to 14 inch (13 inch sport rim very rare to find) to look cooler, is that I need to change my tyre as well, then only can change sport rim to 14 inch?

Is it a must that the inch of sport rim has to same as car tyre inch?

When you upsize/downsize tyre/rim. You need to change both of them.

You also need to check that the width or the tyre fits to the width of your rim. You can use the link below as a guide:
https://www.tyres-pneus-online.co.uk/tyre-e...nce-advice.html

The new tyre diameter needs to be not more than 3% smaller/bigger than the original size. You can use the link below as a guide:

Ok. If need to change both tyre and rim, possible to trade in? If can, how to measure my current tyre and rim 2nd hand value?

It really depends on the shop.

Tyres I don't know much because the shops where I bought tyres never accept trade ins for tyres (maybe coz they're already worn out).

For trade in rims, it depends on the rim condition. It can range from rm200~rm1000.

Rm200 I managed to get for 15 inch rims. Rm900 i managed to get for 19 inch rims (should be rm1000 if not for the scratches).

Depends on whether the rims are cast, flow form or forged. Cast being the most heavy but forged is the costliest. Most aftermarket rims are flow form now.

Do remember not to purchase imitation rims. If you want rims that does not cost a bomb I suggest to get rims that are made by legit companies like Advanti or Konig. AOW is quite good too but most of their designs are copy cats tho. whistling.gif

If not you can try our Malaysian brand Raxer! flex.gif

Speaking of this, i find that choices for proton 15/16 inch 4 x 114.3 wheels is very limited.

I only able to find various copies wheel of famous brand and the closest one legit brand I can find is Advanti DST Storm as well as other model by Advanti.

If I am not mistaken Raxer wheel also have wheels in that specification too as well as 16 inch Enkei RPF1 which i dont think its suitable for daily driving

I not sure how their non DST (flow formed) model perform.

Specifically I am looking at S850 which look identical to proton R3 wheel which I believed Advanti was the OEM for them last time

I asked DRC wheel before for Forged 16 inch which roughly around 6K and few month wait time. To be frank I not sure if forged wheel will make any big difference performance wise vs regular cast wheel.

a good forged wheel is lighter and stronger than flow form, but the price is costly, lighter wheel is always better in performance because of lighter unsprung weight

if you are just for daily drive and not going to join any motorsport like gymkhana or track, then a cast wheel with your preferred design will do, but personally when i choose aftermarket rims i will go for at least flow form rim

Thanks for the reply. brows.gif currently looking around for 4 x 114.3 15 inch wheels but the choice is not much as opposed to 4x100 ones.

Only brand that I saw selling flow form wheels for that configuration/size is advanti but it seems like they dont come with gunmetal and only matte black or standard silver shocking.gif

Weds's official website actually has a "Be careful of imitation wheels" page and specifically warned against AOW and NK Performance.

Hey guys

I'm planning to upgrade from my X50 (215/55 R17). Eyeing either 18/19inch rims plus tyres.

Since I'm new to this I'm not sure how heavy this will be in terms of $$. But for me I'm always looking for cheap and good combos so I'll appreciate any recommendations and their price range. Definitely looking to trade in as well.

Thanks!

Cuz those 2 blatantly copy top brand wheels including Weds. I'd rather choose Konig or even Lenso than those fakes.

I don't recommend going up to 19 cuz the tire becom too thin profile (235/40/19), so your ride quality/comfort is severely hampered, plus the cost will be much higher. Max I'd recommend is just go up to 18 using 235/45/18, so still retain a bit of comfort and the cost is much more affordable.

Rims I'd recommend Konig, Advanti, Lenso, or Raxer.
Tires try find Hankook or Falken.
Those are value for money but not cheapest. Never go for cheapest especially for tires.
