Keep your current Steel Rim.
What I encountered was Steel Rim is not as easy to dent as Alloy Rim (Sport Rim).
Previously I used Steel Rim for 4 years and never dent before. After use Alloy Rim, 1 year plus already dented 3 out of 4 Rim.
FYI, I'm not using low profile tyre and yet I'm still dented my alloy rim.
Then your normal route must have many bad potholes, and/or you're not careful enough to avoid those. I've used sport rims for more than 20yrs now and never had a single rim dented/cracked despite using relatively low profile tires (10-11 cm sidewall height), and also for the most part going thru roads that had potholes too.

I'd avoid coz why bother buying such rims when there are so many other perfectly fine rims available??
