QUOTE(eddie2020 @ Jun 24 2015, 10:37 PM) Thanks.. for common if 4x100 and 8x100 basicly can swap rite? Normally 8 holes PCD is 100/114.3, which means can accept both PCD. So if yours 4 holes, you also can use 8 holes rim. Now only left the offset, if offset too little, the rim and tyre might too out and could hit fender.

My current Rim is XXR brand 17", this brand got hear before? is it a good brand? Thinking to switch smaller rim cz i will downgrade my adjustable absorber. (use normal/sport absorber 17" will hit fender) So i hunting for budget / value rim. After research i found few brand which heard is good n value, Lenso (Thailand), Advanti (from USA i guess), Enkei Taiwan. From this 3, thinking to get 16, as i think the price diff not over 200. Which brand is better in term of weight n price? design i can filter later

Never heard the brand before, most probably is China made rim, like 99% rim out there.
Lenso and Advanti don't think there is imitation, others mostly just imitation. For other branded rim, original cost 3-4 times more expensive than imitation, but I also saw before a guy pay 4K for his supposedly original Japan rim, but actually is just imitation which normally people sell less than 1K. Unless you super trained to see original vs imitation, I highly advise against buying rim that have imitation in here.
Weight and price? Go to the shop and weight the rim, each design rim weight is different. Price also each shop selling is different, it's not fixed price like KFC.

QUOTE(6UE5T @ Jun 21 2015, 10:04 AM) Actually as long as the rims/tires (provided you use properly matched tire size) are not touching anything else on your car but yet stay within the fender/body line, then still ok, but the question is can they? just find the real problem. The tyre for my saga is 55, so sagat... Ok, changed a new one. Alas, correct me if im wrong, the lifespan of tyre, either new or used only 4 years right?

You need to start paying careful attention to the sidewall if got signs of cracking, especially since we're driving in hot & humid condition. Coz I've used tires up to about 5yrs before and when I changed it, the sidewall rubber suddenly crumbles into pieces when they're taken off/pressed by the machine. It was quite an eye opener for me because just a few weeks earlier I still took that tires to about 180-200kph!

QUOTE(Suri^^ @ Jun 27 2015, 01:58 PM) Such a lucky guy, you are. Yeah, I was shocked and relieved at the same time back then. The problem was, we never see the inner side wall, always only the outer side that we clean and put tire polisher. All that time the inner side become brittle and developed cracks which all crumbled during uninstalling process.

Or do you want to get used? If used, might get cheaper Japanese rims.

As long as original Advanti/Enkei Tuning/Lenso, then it's fine. Don't buy replica/copy rims or those China made rims. You can try contact Nestum, he is selling many of those brands and he's posted his ads in the lowyat automotive garage section here. Mudah.my also has many ads for those brands.

Hi guys.. for used rims, is there any special precaution i need to be aware of other than the basic cracks or dent?
i dun really mind if it is original or replica, but as long as it is durable (able to withstand small bumps and not bent) and not too freakin heavy, i'm good with it.
Thanks.

I am using tyre 205/55/16.
Ford Fiesta (Previous facelift) and Honda City are 6jj only.

Thanks. The authenticity of the wheel (if you are buying used rim at high price). Dont want to get cheat buying fake wheels which claimed as "original". Other than that, minor thing such condition of the wheel (paint chip etc). Also, check for rust and rigidity. If the wheels badly rust, certainly you may consider to re-condition it. This apply to those rare wheels such MK, Meister, Longchamp SR-4, Hoshino, etc.
