AQ could be, but PQ on BD 1080p 24p source not sure.. (most PQ improvements come those 1080i deinterlace mode)

yeah function the same, only extra 7.1 analog (with extra price tag).. good for those yesteryear flagship AV amps which can only accept RCA in for HD audio

video performance for 1080p is probably all similar in BD players unless BDP start offering 48bit upscaling videos..
only thing that differs is 1080i video quality..

yeah, when watching 1080p BD even a 5-10k BD player won't give you significantly better PQ than 1.2K PS3... and if you use HDMI pass thro audio to AVR to decode.. also should minimal improvement with the more expensive player..

if on DVDP +DIVX/USB, can use USB port hor..
