video performance for 1080p is probably all similar in BD players unless BDP start offering 48bit upscaling videos..
only thing that differs is 1080i video quality.. http://www.bigpicturebigsound.com/Panasoni...ay_Player.shtml "It would be an overstatement to say the DMP-BD55 "blows away" other Blu-ray Disc players in Blu-ray video performance. Even the lowliest of BD players can produce excellent images from native 1080p content. But the BD55 does offer subtle improvements over other machines in the area of finely detailed color reproduction and in its ability to de-interlace and reconstruct 1080i material into 1080p." |

QUOTE(tepetlah @ Jan 17 2009, 08:40 AM) this a good reason..but most BD movie in 1080p rite.... yeah, when watching 1080p BD even a 5-10k BD player won't give you significantly better PQ than 1.2K PS3... and if you use HDMI pass thro audio to AVR to decode.. also should minimal improvement with the more expensive player..other like analog 7.1 i dont bother bcoz all the while we use avr oso... Added on January 17, 2009, 8:41 am dont play divx on BD player lah...save the lens.. if on DVDP +DIVX/USB, can use USB port hor.. |

QUOTE(arj @ Jan 17 2009, 12:11 PM) Better wait for the new models to appear bro. The BDP-35 is no longer in production and many places especially online retailers don't have them anymore. Those that have them are selling them for over $400. Amazon at one point had them for $230, $130 if you minus out the Black Friday promos yup..so many new models out at even lower prices.. even the pioneer BDP 51 is outdated liao replaced with a cheaper unit.... |
