i think yes, but not recommended because got performance issues (read on various forums). maybe fellow forumers can testify this?
*
I dun think it's performance isssue, rather trying to preserve the "health" of lens (earlier versions) which tends to die quite quickly..

yup...very confuse now...
now we have Normal DVD player, HD DVD Player (HDMI) and Blu-ray player.

1.
Normal DVD player, Malaysia and US are not same region.
Blu-Ray player, Malaysia and US are same region
- if I buy Blu-ray player in US and play in M'sia....
- no problem at all since we are same region but if I play the normal DVD then depend on that movie are NTSC or PAL or Region Free.

2. how about HD DVD movie (HDMI)? is it have difference region problem which is same like normal DVD?

3. How about PS3? also hv region code problem?

i believe its for a storage device which you'll need if you're gonna use the BD-live function.

read the manual lah...

because sony limits it to thumb drives only (cannot put external HDD)...am wondering if pioneer is doing the same
*
can we one touch backup our BD to external USB HDD next time? laugh.gif

THanks for the review. Was expecting the PQ to be noticably better than the PS3. hmm .....
I guess, cos there is not much in video section to improve already from the source side.. any major video upgrades would be at the display..

my solution to the region lock.......primitive and yet effective....one region A player and one region B player.

sure.. and while we are at that, lets get one LCD TV, one Plasma, one projector as well.. then we can have all the options involved.. laugh.gif

yeap....that is right, how you know my setup?

but we're talking abt BD players here though.

why bother with 1.5TB....the 2TB is available already isnt it?
*
that's like asking why consider 500TB, 640GB or 1TB when 2TB is out..

so every one who buys a HDD should be 2TB since it's the largest? different application or budget require different sizes..

of coz for this case of 1.5TB drive, compare cost per GB ratio la.. the sweetspot is with 1.5TBs now.. unless you can show me a 2TB drive at 1.5TB's $/GB price range..??
