Hi, I'm new here.Hoping you all can add me on as friend. Just bought 40GB ps3 console+ MGS4 from Gamemart 3 weeks ago. The seller there named Ah Tatt provided excellent service, as u all have been rumouring about him! By I have a problem of online connection to my ps3. I used streamyx ethernet cable to connect it to d console.Then, follow the instruction to connect it to wired connection.But in the end, it appeared to say that i hv sort like DNS connection with (800....)number.Guys, any solutions?i really wan to play online,help!

ok first of all u cannot connect straight using the ethernet (not sure but it doesn't work for me).. to the PS3. So I ran out bought a modem with builtin router.

I hooked up the first cable from modem to PC, second cable from the modem to PS3. And set up everything via AUTO (PS3).. and I am able to connect since then. I don't even have to on the pc to get PS3 online though I could have both online at same time.

For which brand of modem, I'm not sure I'm using Aztech cheapo. But you might have to search to see which is the best for psn.

Because, direct connection via ethernet cable seems to provide less problem... hmm...

Instead of using automatic setup on the ps3, have you tried doing manually ?

just get a modem with router.. coz b4 this i even tried manual setting, it can't work out.. it cost around 100bucks

Can you teach me how to key in manually?By the way, Ah Tatt got mention to me that have to search for sort of PPPoE username and it's password. How to get it? I'm using ADSL 2/2+ DB102 modem from Telekom, actually just apply for streamyx combo RM60/month package.Do u tink the modem got problem or i need to get new one?

Ben if you need to to set manually, u have to get the user/pass from tmnet.. call them up.

You need to connect to the Telekom modem and set it as "Bridged Mode", if you want to use a router + modem combo. Anyway, this isnt the place for technical help. Please stay on topic

If you are using direct connection to the modem, it's pretty much the same way you setup the modem for your computers.

Alternatively, setup the modem via your computer. Then connect the ps3 and use automatic for everything
