i know i know..............the biggest problem for me is D1, it is too old to be found anywhere........even the "ahem" version very very hard to find................if amazon.com can post to Malaysia then it won't be a problem, most of the old games can be found there, even Fallout 1&2!!!

LOL at the carebears...

I agree that D3 seems a bit too colourful, but as mentioned before it's similar to the world of Dungeon Siege.

Personally I prefer the dark and gloomy dungeons of D1 but at the moment the current art is fine with me. In fact, I felt that D2 was not dark enough !!

This bashing on the art direction is getting silly doh.gif

anyways,
from the words of D3's lead producer

QUOTE
“One of the things that we considered when we were working on the visuals for ‘Diablo III’ is the fact that color is your friend. We feel that color actually helps to create a lot of highlights in the game so that there is contrast. A great analogy is like in ‘Lord of the Rings’ — not everything is dark. It allows you to see what a creepy dungeon can be like but if everything is dark it doesn’t allow you to have a lot of contrast.”

and i have to say he raises a good point and i have to agree with him sleep.gif

I for one love the changed in the art direction. Those whiners are really getting out of hand doh.gif . Not everything has to be dark. It looks weird if Rivendell settings is as dark as Mordor in Lord of the Rings. They have not seen the whole picture, yet they have started to post nonsensical comment. D3 is a new game it doesn't have to follow exactly the old Diablo. Otherwise we would have exactly the same Diablo with just new graphics rclxub.gif

Diablo 3 is using only directx 9 ? hmm.gif

Imho a directx10 and directx 9 mode would have been the better choice. I know some games can use one or the other for people worried about system requirements.

Diablo 3 deserves a good graphics upgrade with better system specs doh.gif

Like i said Crysis is a bit overkill ... you may definately need SLI even to play that game rclxub.gif

Also i am very sure that once players have farmed and quested for gear and completed the game, they want to be able to continue on somehow .....

This is where Diablo tends to be different from other MMORPGs. World of Warcraft MMORPG has quests that are constantly added/updated in the WOW universe, and there are many things to do, such as battlegrounds, big boss raids etc....

Co-op for story mode is nice, but they should think of something to keep us playing the game once we have already finished it. Playing with a different difficulty level wasn't what i had in mind rolleyes.gif More towards multiplayer i would say so we can have a better show of what we earned when getting loot and skills in the story mode game hmm.gif

Something like a battle ground perhaps hmm.gif

Well I'm ok with the contrast but the logic behind D3 is that the D3 World is suppose to be lost of any hope and hence the gloomy dark world is a constant reminder that the hero has a great challenge ahead.

besides the tag line of D3 is suppose to be just that...gloomy.

That would be great and i'll be the first to sign on the petition. D3 looks beautiful as it is now, but there's no harm in polishing the overall look and feel of it such as more detail and quality textures, etc. I think the developer may actually change their thoughts if there are too much complaint. Then we all will have a weird, dark looking outdoor. Look at these crazy people, how much darker they want Diablo 3 to be? Total darkness till you couldn't see anything? doh.gif

Color = better contrast i am for that.

Yes there will be sunny rainbowy days, however they should make the weather that at a certain time it can become night time when things start getting spooky again.

Also dungeons have not much light, i am sure they can make it gloomy some how hmm.gif maybe adding more cob webs and also blood splashes all over the place, AND scary sounds like from DOOM III. That was a bit freaky thumbup.gif

Refering to the first screenshot, the daylight picture seems fine. But i don't see why they cannot have both before and after.

The before would be during the day, and at night it looks like the after screenshot ( not too dark though yeah it seems a bit excessive ).

agree with eerie background sounds, especially in dungeons. and maybe some music as well? too bland just hearing slash and hack sounds, need more adrenaline rush music to it haha.

A day night cycle sounds cool. But it seems that they just want everything to be total darkness to begin with.

i'm sure there'll be day & night cycle, even D2 has it. it would be unrealistic if there weren't day & night cycle haha.
