I couldn't agree more.

The Paladin was demoted to a supporting character in D2, where its advantage is to provide aura to team members (multiplayer of course). Single player Paladin was quite boring as he's basically a weak melee character compared to the Barbarian, while he has limited ranged skills apart from the useless holy bolts, blessed hammer, and the weak Fist of Heavens. The only proper way to use Paladin in combat is Zeal + Charge + offensive auras like thorns/concentration/fanaticism, yet you can only choose one at a time... Still it's not as powerful as a raging barbarian with leap attack or even whirlwind.

Meh... spellcasters are much more fun to use. thumbup.gif Even in D1, shooting fireballs and chain lightnings are more fun than just chop chop chop.

Diablo's dad sweat.gif Lucifer?

@________________@ I dont know lah... But i remember paladin full armor damn gayy one leh... Amazon punya *follow ppl white arrow - i forgot wat name coz 5 year ++ no play* keep hit the paladin, the paladin can keep block one leh... Then sorceress elemental damage to him was dam lil coz of the resist...

QUOTE(sidthesloth @ Jun 30 2008, 08:50 PM)
ur wrong, paladin is not a supporting char in d2. he's not weak either, v1.10 got a major buff on paladin and a significant nerfed on barbarian. the latest patch, barb is just an average melee attacker, the only advantages of barb is his warcries which can boost his hp, even that doesn't compesate the advantages of barb cause got 1 runeword which provide barb warcry that can be used by any other char.

paladin is the best char in diablo2, the basic play is zeal + fanaticism which provide allrounder good pvp and pvm (player vs monster). for a more specialized method, fanaticism + smite is the best melee pvper. This is because smite cannot be blocked and ignore target defense. Apart from it u'll get stun. As for a cheapo paladin , max fist of heaven and conviction and a lvl 60 pally will be able to kill a lvl 89 barb. As for pvm, paladin is also the best because of his "blessed hammer" skill. Stack blessed hammer skill with concetration, u'll get roughly around 11k magic dmg. 11k magic DMG!!!! if you play in hell mode, there's alot of monster with physical and elemental immunities. So sorcs and barb will be useless. However, there's not many type of monster that are immune to magic damages (i think only 1), these means you can deal full 11k damages at hell mode. Pally is the only char that can kill monster effectively alone without anybody help in a 8 player game.

yaya paladin dam geng =P

Pallies are lame.. especially the hammerdins...

Wind druids and bowazons are more fun.

Yea after looking at the altered screen shot, I'd hit the altered one. Certainly darker and match the name Diablo. The original screen shot looks liek Titan Quest.

Can't see the big deal behind it. Change or no change, rainbow or no rainbow, it feels like diablo to me.

Heck, someone in gamespot whined that the game is God of War ripped off cause Barbarian can do the leap attack, which has similiar style to Kratos.

BTW, online petition is mostly useless, unless they voice out in blizzard's official forum. Good arguement, but Blizzard will still decide it.

different artists make different game, blizzard should keep these wow-artists a sight from our diablo.
look these ugly armor above and the donkey foots gril.
the art style of Diablo should be realistic instead of these big plate armors!
in diablo2..my favorite is..picking up the armor, wear it and enjoy because those armors looks are deadly real.

I like the new art direction more. It's vibrant and more colorful palettes being used. It's not all that bad for a new change, after all it's a new sequel smile.gif

I agree.

I too like the dark scenery in the old Diablo series, HOWEVER i think we should let Blizzard have a free hand and see how it goes. We cannot expect the same old same old rolleyes.gif

What worries me though that they may be right, that blizzard is being influenced too much by Warcraft aspects and bringing it into Diablo 3.

Warcraftinization of Diablo may be a good new experience, or an extremely downgrade from the diablo series which transformed to become something else .....

About the colors yeah dark gothic looks kewl and stays with the theme, however realistically how can the place be gloomy all the time. There should be colors as well hmm.gif

2 areas of worry

1. Character model + armor = looks too warcrafty ....

2. Environment very colorful and opposed to the previous Diablo games in the franchise that was gothic and dark. Lut Gholein was one of the few rare bright areas in Diablo II.

Environment i can live with. What i am not too bought on yet is the character and armor design. I totaly agree it looks too much influenced by warcraft ..... too bulky .....

hmm imo the photoshopped ones look a bit too sharp, like there has been too much sharpening used, it'll be better if it were smoothen a bit.

Probably they want to move to a new direction? Following WOW/Warcraft?

Anyway someone posted this up on the diablofans forum, really laugh.gif :

The gameplay is option wow-ish, especially in choosing the attack, but then I maybe wrong since I haven't pc gaming for quite a time.

Lol it might be a blessing in disguise to me, I can get a new laptop. tongue.gif

The colors are more towards WOW/Warcraft. Some people said even the dungeons looks too clean. laugh.gif
Anyway we all should be grateful that Blizzard even releasing D3.

*sigh* some people, what do they expect ? Trolls gang hump a corpse ? Jeez....XD

The dungeon still diablo-ish, dark corners and more chests, infact many of the nostalgic sounds (especially the book shelves) remain the same.

Anyone still remember Izual ? I beleiev he has the best looking armour, well mix of deep blue and gold.

Gamespot slated the release date is new year's eve, so there's plenty of time.

I think the change of direction is because many developers from previous Diablo franchise have left Blizzard and went to create Hellgate: London.

Perhaps Blizzard thinks that the WoW art direction is quite successful. Okie the comparison is OT but similiar situation, Transformers Animated's art similiar to Teen Titans' it's anime-ish but nonetheless the "in" thing.

But then I am not speaking for Blizzard, nor I am right.tongue.gif
