Hi, Ive just got rumour rumour from a Mr.Goh's student, saying that someone in Sunway got 85 for P1 too! So far, that was the highest marks he knows of. U got 85 too? Then maybe potential joint msian prize:D

IMO when it comes to lecturers, who are we to say they are the 'best' or 'most experienced'?

Every student here has their own style and it is up to them to find which lecturer suits their style of learning. For this reason, many of us tend to be not conclusive by going "this lecturer is the best, go to him/her only!". The best we can do is post up the lecturer teaching style(which Topace do so well)

So my suggestion is stop this "This lecturer is the best argument", and rather post up our personal experience with the lecturer and their lecturing style to make sure people who visit this forum find what they're looking for and not just another 3 pages of flame wars of 'my lecturer is better than yours'.

Haha, awesome reply. I do agree that Sunway does have some inexperienced lecturers, but hey, Ms.Menon is not the only experienced lecturer!

There are other good lecturers which I highly respect. Mr.Goh, and Mr.Marcus(now left to INTI). Hey, even the unheard of F6 lecturer Mr.Simon is quite good! Good PR with students, and nice teaching method! I being an average student could also get 70+ in this subject under him. I believe lecturers who has more than 12 years exp in teaching compared to 20 years of teaching experience is minimal, if u do have maths knowledge on exponential graph.

U should see the look of Mr.Goh and Ms.Menon when their passing rate shot way up high last sitting, after failure of meeting the passing rates for the previous sitting. They were so happy, as they had put lots and lots of effort. Im not in anyway discrediting other lecturers, but in order to avoid biasness, especially in misleading students, I think its crucial to obtain feedback from a larger sample of students from different colleges.

Know and understand lecturer's style before making decision! Experience is not the only factor in making decision. Other factors include:
1) Peer pressure
2) Discipline, i.e homework requirements, tests, etc.
3) Systematic approach type lecturers
4) Lecturers who encourage memorizing
5) Lecturers who encourage understanding
6) Less classes, and more time for self study style
7) Lecturer's willingness to answer questions
8) Fees

Before one makes a harsh decision on claiming Sunway has less experienced lecturer so students should head to other colleges, Id suggest, give a legitimate reason to justify a statement. Im not in anyway encouraging students to choose Sunway, in fact I'm actually against them for certain policies lol! Some of the factors which I include above are not fulfilled to my expectations! Of course, some lecturers in Sunway are below student's expectation, but some of them aren't.

Word of advice, instead of solely relying on the recommended lecturers based on front page, do a good market research for primary source of information(not easy, but at least obtain more understanding). Secondary sources of information are usually instilled with biasness and lack of accuracy.

i was in miss rozi's class too and really enjoyed her classes. though the homeworks are numerous, it helps a lot. she said that if my class were to get 100% passing rate, she'll teach p6   but sadly 2 resitters were in our class and failed   if i'm not applying for a loan to go to LCA, i'd have stayed and taken p6 just because she really made taxation interesting

For my own opinion,both Kl and Sunway are good,the different is the Student(includiing me)...
i like F4 lecturer in KL(KSA)Vikness,but not sunway...
i like F8 lecturer in KL(kSA)Philip Wu,but not sunway.....
but don forget 1 very important thing...
yr own study stlye is very impotant...

like philip wu class,he is perfectly make me understand,but,look like too easy,confusing how to write/answer the question and required alot alot alot of self study...
EXAMPLE:make u perfectly understand the recipe But din cook on the spot....
tats a bit conflict with my study style(haha...go home study means no need study)...

sunway F8 leuturer(Kiran),are quite weak in making me understand,but she given many question(2week nearly 8question) and discussing 1 by 1  which according to examiner guidance and requiremnet...
BUT,at the end i don like it,i don like ppl pushing me so hard...

Once again, stupid management never ending policies. :   

Oh that. I was one of the students. It happened when I failed my F4, F7 and F9. I requested to just attended the F7 classes with Menon and choose to self study F4 and F9. They didn't allow me to take just one subject(as a full time student la. But it seems they wouldn't mind if you were a part time) and insist that I attend all the F4 and F9 resit classes in Sunway

Due to this strange policy I quit Sunway. The lecturers there are quite okay, but if there's one thing I dislike about Sunway, I would say it's the management system.

Another question from Sunway students, I heard that they are offering some English course to the ACCA student. Mind to clarify this?

I heard that Chong Kwai Fatt is only teaching temporarily at sunway for P6. He will also stop teaching in few weeks & will be replaced by someone else. It seems he was there at the fist place just to be "temporary subsitute".

Can anybody clarify on this ?
I was informed by friends who want to go there at 2nd term but put off by this news.

You can't really blame the director for want of publicity.
Prize winners are dropping & lecturers are leaving, they really need some sort of revival scheme to boost the morale around.
When CKF comes it gives him the oppurnity to pull the strings to attract more students and he did "for now".
Luckily acca market is not as volatile as share market / politics or everyone will react accordingly with the news.

One more thing I heard about sunway which also needs clarification.
I am also curious why sunway passing rate is so high compared to others & I can't help but wonder whether student performance is the only factor behind it. I discovered that sunway practice a policy of "selecting" students for exams.
- your choice of taking no of papers depends on the director (If take 4 he will evaluate whether can you pass all not student choice)
- got some sort of internal exam which (3 times ?) that if you fail all 3 you will be "delisted" from sunway as student.

I think there are others policy but this is the one i am quite sure, is it true ?
