Because if u noticed when when u kena attack from the wing... ur CB will just run to the side to stop the attacker leaving holes in ur centre of defense. Thats why u use super cancel to reposition him back to where he suppose to be in the centre.
Hold R1 + X to chase n follow n pressure the attacking player
Hold R1 + R2 to manual control ur player ( more to going back to defend ur centre of the box)
Hold R1 + R2 + Square to send another defender to take care of the attacking player from the wing or etc... while the player u controlling can still be in better position to intercept anything if the opponent does get past the player u send to stop him
