Really good price for the 10R, go for it. Yes, mention me with Maxx and Michael. I had a chat with Rick again at the KLIAV yesterday. biggrin.gif

Anyone heard of this brand of Subwoofers called "Hsu Research" ?
*
Yes, received a lot of good reviews. The owner, Dr Hsu is originally from Singapore I think.

Hsu STF-2 was in my list. You can order online at http://www.hsuresearch.com

besides velocht10r what subs, what could be the best buy.
reason: trying to sacrifice to aim a better floorstand.

Why not totally sacrifice the sub and get a full range floorstanders. tongue.gif

I mean, if your floorstanders can do all the job, a sub is no longer relevant. biggrin.gif

I usually watch movies on Sunday afternoon. And sometimes when I get crazy, I listen to music around midnight at -17dB. No police came, I guess the neighbours were enjoying the music too. tongue.gif

I might be able to stretch my budget for a 10" SPL. Notice the heavy emphasis on might laugh.gif

Now all I need to know is roughly how much the damage will be. All I remembered was it is more expensive than the CHT series laugh.gif

You still have to do calibration on the AVR after you do the sub's own calibration. nod.gif

What model is that? What brand? If it's to be the winner in this thread it should be cheap. biggrin.gif

Yup, trust your ears. If you hear the same, the only advantage the SPL-1000R has is smaller size. tongue.gif

Bro Arj, what time you're picking the sub from A&L, don't forget our meeting. brows.gif

I'm not too concerned with the size so there's one more notch for the CHT-12R. Will head over to A&L after our date wub.gif

Good choice bro. thumbup.gif

I'm also loving my CHT-10R. Might also consider 12" someday. All right, see you tomorrow bro. wub.gif

Yup, the 12R can go as low as 25Hz. thumbup.gif

To prepare for my BD version (to be released August 26), watched the U-571 DVD version 2 days ago. Really one of the titles to be used to test your sub. My 10R performed well, can't wait fo the DTS-HD MA version! drool.gif

Just got back from Sg Wang. The huge box barely fit into the back seat of my car laugh.gif

They were also trying to poison me with the DD series for my next upgrade doh.gif laugh.gif
I bought it from A&L Sg Wang.

Nope, did not test the 10R. They're currently out of stock. If you want to test the 12R head over to A&L Sg Wang.

Congrats bro! rclxms.gif

Nice meeting you today. Told you it's huge, even more huge with the box. sweat.gif

Htkaki, I will upgrade my center soon. brows.gif

Aiman,
Heard you're using MA BR2 for fronts .. good for movies?
I'm now choosing between the BR5 frist or BR2 first for fronts ...
Might change my mind if paradigm monitor are any way better.
Will get the CHT10R maybe two months time, when i refill my wallet.

HTKaki,
You got BR5 ma? can pm me price?
*
Yup, BR2 for fronts. And satellites for others. I don't want big setup, so no floorstanders for me. biggrin.gif

It's good for movies, but the real reason I bought it is because it's really good with music. I use 50% of my setup for music. General rule of thumb, if you hear it good with music, it should be good with movies too. For BR5, it's a floorstander, so I can imagine better bass with better soundstage, with the same clarity as BR2. Go for it if you have the budget.

So, I guessed wrong, thought you're getting a Paradigm sub, which is not bad if you ask me. nod.gif

Ooops, my mistake. I got mixed up, I thought it was BR6. The BR6 is the floorstanding version of the BR2 with 6.5" drivers.

I've got other BDs with DTS-HD MA. In fact, all BDs from Fox uses DTS-HD MA. Live Free or Die Hard really shakes the doors in my house. laugh.gif

Yup, Cloverfield is the blu-ray to test your sub. Been saying this many times, but people are afraid to buy it, you know, getting dizzy and throwing up. laugh.gif
