Yup, I was quoted for less than $300 too from SVS.

Guys, at around RM2k, the Velodyne CHT-10R can be considered cheap sub, good bass. Now those monsters like REL, SVS, Paradigm Servo and Velodyne SPL/DD series are in the category expensive sub, excellent bass.

There's a simple guide in the Onkyo manual. Too lazy to read, not until tomorrow night.

Eh, the 10R is peasant sub... You'll need at least 12R to be to get the elite-o-meter to work.

I'm seeing people discussing SVS Ultra, REL Strata II, Paradigm Servo 15 here. Now those are Level 8-9 in the elite-o-meter reading.

I can really "feel" my sub. So, my 10R is already doing a great job for me.

Received a Kad Raya from A&L today. Very nice.

Then A&L really appreciate their customers. Other shop shuld follow their example. I bought from Desa many times, never get anyting from them.

Yes, almost all AV receivers have this setting. This will have the subwoofer do all the low frequencies instead of the speakers (unless you have full-range/band speakers, although you can still use subwoofer for double bass production). So crossover the low frequencies that your speakers can't handle, usually around 10Hz over. THX recommends at 80Hz but it still depends on your own preference but never lower then the speakers capability.


Agreed. That's why it's really tricky, sometimes you have to put the subwoofer far away to get the best results.

Velodyne is the specialist subwoofer maker, they don't make anything else, not even speakers.

Wah, now you're using Velodyne too ar? It will make you forget the trouble with the AE, and enjoy the real boom!

Tun Mega, I got the KEF for center only, the fronts still MA. Can't afford the floorstanders yet.

My target is the iQ9 to match the iQ6c center.

Can get walnut color in Malaysia? They told me only got dark apple and cherry. I'm actually looking for walnut, dark apple is the closest because my fronts are walnut (not KEF). What color is yours?

My house will collapsed with the Servo 15.

I noticed ever since I use the Onkyo 875, my Velodyne is more punchy even in movie mode.

I remember with my previous Yamaha V1800, if I choose movie mode, it is less punchy, but more low grunts and delays. But it was too much so I choose other mode instead.

So an AVR does affect the LFE channel. I'm using the same QED Qunex SR-SW.

I guess it's the same setting as "Both" in Yamaha, and "Double Bass" in Onkyo.

My advise is to use the "LFE+Main" only if you have a full range/band front speakers. It means the crossover setting will not be applied to the front speakers, and if there's a LFE channel it will be sent to both the front speakers and the subwoofer.

For Onkyo, you can even select the "Double Bass" if your fronts not set as "Full Band".
