As mentioned in my earlier posting, CHT-12R. Sorry, it's Velodyne. There is another one 12" sub (near to death) lying in my room. Yet to set it back again for a 7.2 setup.

RM1,900 for CHT-10R and RM2,500 for CHT-12R. The CHT-Q is abt RM300-RM400 more. Look for Rick, A&L in IOI Mall

hi guys... i have a question. My sub- woofer is directly facing my couch at about 2-3Ft. My wife decide to do something to spice up the living. She move the couch to where i place my Sub so its blocking my sub at a distance of 2-3ft. Will it affect the performance? Should i shift my sub so that it is not facing the couch?
*

Probably, depending on the room acoustic. In my case, yes.

Yes, that's the ultimate positioning. No problem to put in the middle as long as you can tweak / calibrate it to blend with your speakers.

The reason for a sub at the corner is to 'enhance' the bass. Corner tends to make it more boomy.

as far as i know low freq has no direction....
*

Not entirely true. A sub produce a range of freq. Say cut-off is 80Hz, then it shall produce from its lowest to 80Hz. If I remember correctly, these fluctuation in freq and incorrect placement will make it 'identifiable' by the listener. In this case, the listener is able to pinpoint where the bass come from. That's the reason we need to find the best location to put a sub. Much has been said about sub placement and calibration. I've posted a few informative articles here too smile.gif

Upgraded my sub's interconnect to QED SR-SW. Less noise and better lower end grunt now. Tmw, will test it out again with some BDs

What cable were you using previously? I bought that QED as well but kinda lazy to change the cable laugh.gif

I have 2 sub cables. One is custom made more than a decade ago. Another is Monster. Ditched the Monster and used the custom made interconnect until yesterday.
