The first settlers is a bunch of Fujian ppl second bunch is Guangxi ppl during Qin dynasty... somewhere in Tang/Ming dynasty.. hainan island became a prison like Alcatraz... in the end all sorts of ppl live there. so there's actually no difference between pedigree or not.... i've known of a person who is hainanese... but originated from guangzhou.
