I purchased a WRT54GL just to use tomato, I flashed it without an issue. Can't wait to properly make use of it.

Viteck is way better , anyway I've written a QoS guide , going to continue once its done. I'll port it from my blog to the front page so that users can read and learn how to configure QoS for their tomato powered routers

For an average user you might not notice the difference , but when you try to tweak the settings - you'll see the potential !

Yes the QoS is better. The default QoS setting is ok for average user.
You will not see improvement if you're the only one who use the connection except you are surfing web while torrent-ing.
For me it is good because i shared my 512 package with 3 computers, I can barely surf after turn off the QoS....

Latest version is always recommended or you can try some mod version.

There is some risk to flash your router but it is easy to do that.
1. Make sure your router model and version is supported.
2. Using only ethernet cable for flash.
3. It is beeter to not using the computer while flashing to avoid sudden error on computer.
4. Remember to do a hard reset after flashing the router.

I'm thinking to get Linksys WRT54GL but what's the differences between DD-WRT and Tomato ?

Where can I download tomato firmware ?

Any other addons like Antenna and etc to include before my actual purchases ?

Thank you.

barry80, yes, is stable version, with more than 45 features (external and internally) differing from official Tomato.

_ Up to 100 users/applications for UPnP, Static DHCP, Restriction Access...
_ igmproxy for IPTV
_ CAM mode for wireless when not used
