uh yeah. last time i got jerking on 2nd gear. change tdc sensor ok edy. huhu.
no no. not trying to chk my car. laugh.gif  sweat.gif  doh.gif

i went to 7e for a while. alone. so i need to turn off my car's engine la.

later after i back to my car, i cant start my car. my engine still hot yet cannot start. its one of the symptom ur tdc need to be chk out lor. huhu. send to sc, they replace the sensor. till now no jerking at 2nd gear. no probs starting the engine. huhu.

but, if u got probs with cold start. i mean, in the morning. where ur engine still cold. if cannot start, u might need to chk u ignition coil. huhu.

thats what i understand from savoc.net la. blush.gif

ya that's true. the reason i couldn't start my car the past few days and suddenly engine died is because of spoilt tdc sensor. so yesterday i brought my car to proton to fix. cost me rm320 for the new sensor. aiyooo. in the last 2 years, i had changed one already but that time it's under warranty. this is the 2nd time already

wow... so expensive... new type 1? cleaning it should be enuff... it's just dirty, if i'm not mistaken
anyway, mine is going to service next friday... gonna complain about jerking problem, and hope they chg the tdc for me... do we hv to tell them to chg it? i'm going to proton CoE btw...
just stick a carbon fiber sticker on it... looks cool if it's a black car... seen it on a neo

yep it's the new type one which prevents water from getting inside the tdc sensor area. btw actually b4 dis i had been going to rsauto back and forth few times already. they did many things with the tdc...modify the wire, solder the wire, replace wire and so on. but the prob still persist. and this finally made me to go to proton sc once and for all.

My savvy jerks and loses power..2nd, 3rd and 4th gear...like it's choking on air.
Does it mean the throttle body is dirty and need to be cleaned again??

more like u have ignition coil problem eg. moist enter the ignition system. i experienced it before exactly same as you. what i did...change the whole ignition coil system coz changing new sparkplugs didn't solve it

sold for rm20k to a car dealer. mine year 2006. problems...can just say every year got problem to repair but had not reached the serious problems such as amt gear pump spoilt. mainly tdc sensor, hard to start, engine stuttering etc. actually, the minor problems maybe can manage but scared to keep longer upon hearing the seriousness of amt problem and the huge costs that will incur. but anyway for those who plan to buy savvy, juz buy manual la coz it is the best

my wife driving kenari. very bad at cornering. and drive 100km/h like im driving my savvy at 150km/h  tongue.gif

padisawah: upgrading to what car?  brows.gif

bro mutt, haha u know my intention...the new car is actually just the entry level T-badge lor. nothing great. but hopefully i can fully rely on it without worries
awh85, choosing kenari is okay if you just want a car that only take u from A to B. but for spirited driving, savvy's still the best bang-for-bucks. savvy's chassis is so great which is suitable for guys who wanna mod kaw2, swap engine, etc. anyway, if you are not into modding and plan to take amt, ask for the 5 years extended warranty by proton and therefore dun hav to worry bout spending money to repair. icon_rolleyes.gif

so since got warranty, why does everyone warn against the hefty bill for repairs?
*
and another point is, coz my warranty only covered for 2 years only. not like newer proton cars. mine long time finish dy

I tried.. it worked for the 1st few times... but later when the thing got worse and start to 'mati engine' after u start the car... Then it won't work anymore...

Anyway, I just got back my car!! They changed magnetic speed sensor, another sensor, and ignition coil for me... which explains why it took so long... the car is now healthy, I was so happy and when I gunned it home, it feels so good... Damn! I love this car!! smile.gif

i once felt what you are feeling now, when the SC changed the sensor, and ignition coil. felt like new! rclxms.gif

hehe. the k&n still available. anyway as far as i know, drop-in wont void warranty. coz the shape same and fits just like savvy's stock airfilter, no need to remove the engine box cover. just plug n play. whereas open pod need to make the engine 'naked' in order to fit it. that's y it may void warranty. b4 i purchase the drop in i did survey in forum, and from there i understand that for auto/amt cars, better off with drop-in. open pod suitable for manual. Cheers! smile.gif
