ala bro, need to register eh if wanna dl the file? sweat.gif

btw can u update my details? death_nite savvy amt hi-line energy orange 2007 smile.gif

Junyen,

its not about how tight u need tight the nut, its about adjusting the nut height so ur cai can get more cool air. try playing around with it then close ur engine hood. look what it did.

but be careful, if its too much, when driving over pot holes, ur signal might blinking. smile.gif

IGNORE ME?

BAD MOVE...  I've been trying to restore "Savvy" Reputation by Compiling AS MANY owner's FEEDBACK AS POSSIBLE...  Fine, if you don't want to write bad about your "BELOVED" car, then write a Positive ones lor...  I will publish it in my "otoreview" BLOG.

You guys really indulge in "GROUPTHINK" too much...  Shut out outsiders KAU KAU...  Anyway, from what I gather in this "CLUB", I've already known the FC, Common Problems and Positive points...  THANKS...
*
erh?

Jeff_lwh is u aa? the one asking for review? damn. sorry dude. sweat.gif

nah. savvy is not a free problematic car. just go ahead to savoc.net. u can read a lot of problems in it.

but most of the problems can diy except amt. sweat.gif

sorry again dude. notworthy.gif

---

after reading the amt manual book, OMG! its so complicated! so many things involve just to change a gear? shocking.gif no wonder some proton technician dont know how to trace the problems and ask us to buy a new set instead.

Well, that's the basic behaviour in LYN F&F.

I'm almost similar to you but, I'm for convincing myself to get one AMT... I'm still far from convinced.
hypermount, the AMT manual links, maybe it's a good idea to put it in the front page.
*
bro hyper edy put it on the frontpages.

n guess what, the nru members bought that e-book and they shared the cost. thumbup.gif really appreciate it.

wait, u hvnt bought ur savvy yet aa? sweat.gif

bad review for my car. here:

1) noisy. should hv more sound proof.
2) gear ratio too low. thus pickup feel slower compare to other cars.
3) my fuel lid broken. but replace new one.
4) amt smtime give warning light. but realize in Manual mode no warning light occurred.
5) jerking. sc change new sensor.
6) power window button start to give problems/not sensitive. common problems in savvy. but easily solve with DIY.
7) rattling!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! sad.gif

good review?

1) fc good. now around 15-16km/l. previously around 13-14km/l. hopefully become better.
2) can take corner at high speed.
3) amt is fun!

i cant think any. sweat.gif

Jeff_lwh, satisfied?

thats the only short review i can give. smile.gif

Jeff_lwh,

abt the fc, most new user suffered bad fc. but it seems those senior user able to get 18km/l.

weird is one user at savoc.net able to get 23km/l.

based on bro hyper, his car able to get 20km/l.

mine fc from 13-14km/l at 1st. after 8k km, become 15-16km/l. highway 16-17km/l with average speed of 120kmh.

4k rpm change gear. that can consider heavy footer. for me thats super heavy footer. laugh.gif

try changing ur gear below 3k rpm. 2.5k would b fine i think. be relax with ur foot.

so do u fill in your tank straight away after blinking?or wait until 500?
*
blinking one bar. usually can fill up to 30l.

after my car start blinking (2 bar) for the 1st time, if i get more than 430km+, fc normally around 15km/l++.

QUOTE(deodorant @ Dec 8 2008, 09:00 PM)
Meh the thing is, there's like no torque below 3k, so to make reasonable progress you have to tarik at 3k+ sad.gif
*
no torque?

i donno, but i can feel torque start to kick in at 2k rpm. if no pickup, yes i agree. smile.gif

sorry i have a question,
as i juz bought my savvy car,my first car(i love it..haha..) and wants to know more how to maintain it...hehe...

my first question is, tongue.gif

is it normal if i fill the water at the water wiper box until full, but the next day it become half tank only??without using it at all?

my second question is, biggrin.gif

what kind if liquid should i fill to the radiator?as i saw the radiator tank the the water is some sort of greenish liquid..can i pour juz the water pipe in like other japanese car?

my third question is,

is ti normal if i off my engine ady but still have sound come out from the front like got fan still spinning??yesterday i juz faced it..but i restart my car again and off then the fan spinning sound gone..is it normal??

my forth question is,
wat should i do for the first 1000km service?is it anything needs to take note for it?

thanks for the advice... notworthy.gif
*
1. not sure. haha. try check got leak or not? if no leak then normal. smile.gif

2. no tap water/water pipe pls. use coolant mix with distilled water if not mistaken.

3. radiator fan still turn on cos ur engine still hot. its normal for conti car. use aircond next time it wont happened again. even if it does, its normal.

4. change gear oil + filter. i think. tongue.gif

What are the problems discussed in savoc that you mentioning above?
*
regarding AMT. unsolved overheated problems. which reduce it life span.

naah. base on savoc proton discussion, proton keep saying if no warranty, LIVE WITH IT.

i dont think 2009 batch will be problem free. proton still same. maybe savoc need to discuss with MD himself b4 trying next step. haha.

Are you referring to when car is fully stop but still in D mode, no change to N, and when car not fully stopped yet  but already switch to N.
These two will cause the overheat of the AMT gearbox?
*
yes,
when car stop, didnt change to N. amt pump will easily overheated; suddenly from D turn to M mode. those things will reduce amt lifespan. well, basically, the heat itself kill the pump.

thats y in savoc, they discuss how to reduce this heat.

though right now, i do things to prevent the pump from overheated, each time after i drive my car, i will try to touch the amt pump. its so HOT! shakehead.gif

What are the preventive measures are you taking right now to prevent the pump from overheat? Beside those two that mentioned above. (When car is fully stop but still in D mode, no change to N, and when car not fully stopped yet but already switch to N. ) Thanks.

If we put D or R then without pressing the accelerate pedal and let the car move slowly by itself. Will this harm the AMT or the car? Thanks.

Need some of your valueble advices here. Thanks in advance.
*
that preventive measures not really 100% working. cos got 1 savoc member did all of this things but still end up faulty with his amt pump.

1) change amt fluid with renaultmatic elf.
2) change gearbox oil using renault gb oil.
3) change to N when fully stop. use handbrake instead of brake after that. when not moving/slow moving, pressing brake will activate ur pump i think.
4) always use aircond; to keep ventilate the hot air inside engine bay.
4) i use manual mode. laugh.gif donno got anything to do with it or not. blush.gif

using D/R without pressing acc pedal and let the car move slowly, or creep function (i think) not so sure will harm the AMT or not. but i read in savoc, got 1 user always stuck in slow moving traffic jam, his amt got overheated then. sweat.gif

Er, no and no.

It's a single clutch, not double. And there is no torque converter, torque converter = automatic.
*
yeah!
single clutch.
no torque converter. thats where the fun thing is. when its working in good condition. laugh.gif just hope my amt can survive so many years! unsure.gif

why do u say it'll affect your topspeed? i thought it'll be easier to reach your topspeed and even higher topspeed? Due to more horsepower.. and the waste air is exhausted faster?

AMT is just the gear box.. installing these things are related to the engine only... if i'm not mistaken..

Voltage stabilizer is for wat? For the 'Drive by wire'?
*
for amt; since the pump itself use a lot of power. i can feel the diff when using it.
