The movie just doesn't have to bond feel IMO. Sure it was a good action movie, but it really lacked the bond feeling.

Gadgets were missing. The car gets trashed in the first scene. Everything Bond just didn't felt right this time around.

But I'm not saying it's a bad movie.

I do agree with above though that QoS is brute with physical action.

WTF is Borson?

And there has never been a Bond R-rated sex scene, has there? Sure a little steamy but never R, no? Could be wrong on this.

Yes, never been rated R. The old bond movies are mostly rated family-friendly such as PG. the past few bond flicks are PG-13 though.

Fair to say Casino Royale and QOS really push the limit of PG-13.

There wasn't a PG-13 before temple of doom. biggrin.gif

It's become more Bourne-ish no doubt, but the unique Bond feel is still retained. This is better than that DAD dud anytime. Just bring aboard a director who has expertise in action movies (campbell is always welcome), a little less shakey cam, more dialogue and plot and the enxt can be a winner.

I'll be looking forward to Bond23 anyhow. It's probably gonna be a direct continuation again.

They've resolved all loose ends already with Bond getting his revenge so what's with a direct continuation?

Er, actually that was the point. I remember they say they wanted to make the opposite of james bond. So they made Jason Bourne.

Anyway i could be wrong.

Bourne started off as a novel back in the 80's before being made into a TV series then later a movie and has nothing to do with Bond.

just watched the movie...interesting that some people don't say this movie doesn't have the Bond feel. Yes, there are the lack of gadgets...no geeky scientist to explain this does what...coz that would now make this show look like a teenage/comedy movie. For example, Stormbreaker? Get Smart? Lack of gadgets actually make this movie...feel more original.

It just shows what Bond can do with just his smarts and 'items' around him. I just love it when he took whatever he could find in that hotel and smacked Mr Slate on the head laugh.gif

If I were to guess, I would say... maybe more about Quantum, the super secret organisation whose existence was revealed in QoS.

Plus, at the end of QoS, M told Bond that Dominic Greene was found shot to death. Greene was still alive when Bond left him in the desert, so somebody else must have killed him, possibly for his failure in Bolivia.

Just watched this movie yesterday. All I can say James Bond has become almost to Jason Bourne. Don't get me wrong the action was intense. They manage to do every chase scene there is (except underwater) laugh.gif. This movie lacks what Casino Royale did. This time Bond lacks his essence that makes him Bond. Plus this one of the shortest Bond movies ever. And the intro montage doesn't even compare with Casino Royale

I give this movie a 3.5/5.

Watched it last night.

It was not as 'epic' as Casino Royale but still damn good on any level...

The brute force and punches is really what James Bond is suppose to be.

And Olga > Eva. She is so damn cute I just want to cuddle her !!!

8 / 10

OMG Strawberry Fields - - the most unused Bond girl (so little screen time!)... she is like wat, 20 years old or something ?
