QUOTE(FullMetalBoy @ Sep 8 2008, 10:34 PM) i read somewhere that the dual core gpu can only crossfire up to 2 cards only. other series u can crossfire up to 4. Because there is only one pin available at 4870x2/3870x2 for CrossFireX.maybe its only the driver issue that does not support this 4870x2 and 3870x2 in quad crossfire mode. is this true? same goes to 9800GX2 cases. |

DX10.1 is way better than DX10, DX10 sucks.
Anyway, DX11 is an enhancement of DX10.1, not DX10 |

AMD’s graphics division (ATI) today introduced the ninth update for its Catalyst driver software today. Version 8.9 includes a new display mode, Overdrive support four quad-Crossfire X configurations and works in concert with OpenGL 3 extensions.
Anyone with 4870X2 CFX tried overdrive ? |

Tried this?
QUOTE Alright, this may come as a surprise, but Crysis Warhead is set to use 256mb of Vram!!!!!! WTF was Crytek thinking!? I noticed this while I was doing performance checks and while my system ram usage and cpu usage was fine, I noticed my GPU being under utilized. So I went to tweakguides.com and looked through the various cvars trying to find anything noteworthy in regards to gpu's. con_restricted=0 sys_budget_videomem = 512 r_TexturesStreaming=0 I made an autoexec.cfg with that and now I can run at 1440x900 and get as high as 60fps and never, ever go below 30fps on all gamer settings. Micro-stuttering (stuttering when turning) is virtually gone and the game is just running smooth as butter Also, r_TexturesStreaming=0 removes that annoying texture streaming issue so all textures are displayed all the time and it makes the game look quite a bit better too boot since it's not rendering texture lod at various distances anymore. You'll notice the biggest difference in far away mountains, hills and other objects.. http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=20119880 |
