I'm using Linksys E3000 with DD-WRT (build 16785) Std USB NAS. Which channel width I should select 20Mhz or 40Mhz for my 2.4Ghz? And I have disable the 5Ghz will it reduce my wireless signal?

QUOTE(MX510 @ May 14 2011, 07:05 AM) That is good enough already :-) just flashed build 16785 the wireless signal is terrible. Wireless signal cannot last for 1 days and drop to 20mbps+ only.

QUOTE(cannavaro @ May 13 2011, 01:02 AM) 40Mhz is for wifi N 300Mbit/s. But some device has issues connecting to those on 40MHz right? Like my iPad will have some issues connecting to it. Revert it back to 20MHz will solve it.

Yup... plus some routers work better with the stock firmware. One example is TP LINK 1043ND. I hope the developers will make a ddwrt special edition for it. Currently it's the most voted atheros based router to get the special edition. CODE http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=89782

Just wanted to check. I am currently using a broadband package from YTL Wimax Yes using the Zoom modem. What would be a reasonable price router I can get to setup DD-WRT. After setting it up, can I assume that by plugging the LAN cable between the Zoom modem and the router, I can access Internet without any configuration?

Think Asus RT-N16 looks like a good router. Also, u can potentially upgrade hardware of the WIFI signal easily. Base on what the advantages, lots of memory and fast CPU, allow USB storage.
