Hi, want to ask, I just got myself a Asus RT-N16, and flashed to DD-WRT. I am planning to use transmission in optware to make it a torrent downloading server. So what you guys been using to download torrent? Transmission is the best? Also how can I set the QoS/traffic priority of the torrent to lowest?

You can just check QOS section and set the priority based on the mac address :-) of ur .torrent server

I'm sure it's still slow because u still got restricted via our ISP throttling method unless

What i do is i set a NAS which from nas FTP download from torrentflux servers hehe or rapidshare or hotfile by NAS is Synology

Hmm...What I want to do is using the router (with a pendrive connected) as torrent server...so mean that set the mac address of my router?
What I want to do exactly is have the torrent server on my router given the lowest traffic priority, so http or skype traffic has better priority.
What I have in my mind is setting the torrent server to low priority without the need of identify the packet, as I planned to use encryption in torrent downloading.

But as you suggested set the mac address, I will try tonight.

is that TP-Link router also can flash to dd-wrt already?

Im trying to configure my Linksys WRT54GL to work for Unifi..

I managed to create the VLAN 500 to my my VLAN1. However when i tried to assign VLAN.500 to WAN port,it didnt want sqve,and simply revert to VLAN1. If i were to many times,it will then automatically disable the WAN port assignment..

Tried resetting to factory settig and reconfigured,but the same thing happened..
Can qnybody help me please.. Thanks. Oh btw,my router is running DDWRT v24-sp1

Recently installed it on a bunch of ASUS RT-N10s, I think I paid about RM100 for them.

I have a Linksys E1000 Ver.2.1.01 (build 5) and a WAP54G. Some source says it's has access point integrated (source) but I couldn't find a single setting related to AP/repeater in the router's setting page. Pre-purchase result gone wrong. :$

I have Googled around and also chat with Linksys support. With the devices that I have at the moment, I need to connect both physically and get another WAP54G to act as a repeater or AP.

I understand that E1000 v2 is not supported, is it possible to downgrade its firmware to what supported by DD-WRT?

It's me again..

I got myself an used WRT54G flashed with DD-WRT v24-sp2.. but I couldn't get it connect to the Internet. At first, I can see a WAN IP at the top right corner of the setting page but couldn't get onto the net. Same as wireless, I can connect and get a valid IP address but no Internet connection.

My current (or intended) setup:



Both ADSL and WRT54G would be located at 2nd floor while WAP54G as a repeater at GF.

What I've done:
Setup - Basic Setup
[1] WAN Setup - configured PPPoE
[2] Network Setup - Local IP (192.168.1.1), Subnet Mask (255.255.255.0), Gateway (0.0.0.0), Local DNS (0.0.0.0)
[3] Network Address Server Setting (DHCP) - DHCP Type (DHCP Server), DHCP Server enabled, DNS Servers (Streamyx DNS)
Wireless - Basic Settings
[1] Wireless Mode - AP (as this would be the device providing the wireless connection)

My assumptions.. the above would be the common settings to get the device connect to the Internet.

Am I missing something? Btw, this is the first time I'm playing with repeater.

It should work which firmware version are u using now?

DD-WRT? it's v24-sp.. from what i can see from the setting page..

Pls choose the stable version not the beta one :-) or purchase the sp1 special version

I recently did my first repeater setup, using an Atheros based router, something that I regret .

Is it possible to repeat a repeater? As in the second repeater is not connected to the AP, but to the first repeater (which is connected to the AP). If yes, should the gateway (of the second repeater) be the address of the first repeater? According to the DDWRT forums this is possible, but I could not find a clear answer on how the setup should be.

Another thing is DHCP doesn't seem to work for wireless, I'd have to use static ip to surf the net. It appears that many people using Atheros are having this problem.
