4.14 user here, no problem at all.
However, I don't recommend for ppl who are very busy with their lives to upgrade to vista, it took me at least 4 hours to upgrade from XP to vista and plus about 1 hour to upgrade to SP 1, and i haven't included the time needed to clean those temp files, xp directories during transition to vista, and as usual there are still some tweaking to do after upgrade complete. Slower startup is expected but im glad only longer for few secs (around 40-50s).

And I noticed that using Vista definitely need 17'' monitor and above, those icons are freaking bigger than XP even its in minimum size, but overall i'm satisfied with Vista SP1, nvr had any problems or major issues after 2-3 weeks using it.

Well I do a fresh install instead of upgrade and as the DVD is already preloaded with SP1, I don't have to download it again. From start to finish it took me just 20 minutes

Does anyone here have a Canon MP160 printer? How's the compatibility of this driver with SP1? So far it's working fine on my bro's laptop with non-SP1 Vista Ultimate here.

you can manually download the updates if you need to build Vista DVD image that contains the latest updates/hotfixes so it will save you reupdating again whenever you formatted your PC...

32bit Vista only 'displays' 4Gb of memory if you have that much. It still uses only 3Gb memory.
*
That's the thing I hate about 32 bit OS now... I believe with 1GB graphic card... 4GB RAM become less than 3GB... And what if you SLI 2 1GB card? 4GB become less than 2GB.... It will make the gamers really stupid...

Thus I guess it is time to move into 64-bits... At least on the name of gaming... brows.gif

i think u better stick wit sp1.
sp2 bring some extra features, but not extra performance.
review show it open program faster, but suffer a bit wen running actual application, like gaming.
u can check out a review here.

I think it does. The area between 3GB+ and 4GB is reserved for video memory, BIOS and other rubbish. If you have a 1GB card, i think u should see < 3GB. Anyone with a 1GB VGA can confirm this?

Yes it does, Windows 32-bit can only use maximum of 4GB of memories, and that's includes your video card memories.

just installed xp1 a few days ago.installing all service packs are a big waste of time.quite literally

but after sp1, my ultimate runs smoother and somehow the dreamscene doesn't lag/frame drop anymore.

4gb of ram shows 4 gb on sys info, but under resources it still goes to 3gb....time to switch to x64
