Hello all,

My wifi problem started few days ago and till today its still the same, I have problem connecting to ANY wifi networks, home or outside, secured or unsecured, it just shows 'N/A' status at Bosspref. I never experience this problem before since Jan 09 when I got this phone.

My wife and myself each got an iphone 3G and her iphone got no problem detecting and connecting to wifi networks, while mine can't even detect, let alone connect. My laptop is able to connect to the wifi network and I can conclude that the problem comes from my own iphone.

I have done reset network settings, turn phone off and on and it does not help. I dare not restore my phone now as my phone is yellowsn0w unlock and worry after restore my wifi problem still persist I will have no chance to use my phone again.

I have done many hours of online research for answers but can never get any sure solution to resolve my wifi problem?

Do you think its the most feared wifi hardware failure?

Appreciate some help here.

Thanks

tried restoring it? you can restore to 2.2 then still be able to use yellowsn0w for unlocking.

The only time when I had problem with WIFI was the SSID issue. This when you first connect to an access point let say 'ABC'. Then you decided to protect this access point by giving it a WPA2 key or you change the attributes of this access point. Bang! iPhone can't detect any 'ABC' access point or it won't connect to it.

The steps I did was to restore access point back to normal then iPhone can connect. Then on the iPhone, I press 'Forget Network' so it would disengage. Do the necessary settings on access point and let iPhone rediscover the access point.

Sometimes I have to change the SSID name to something else so it can connect. Then press Forget Network and then change the SSID back to something I want before letting iPhone rediscover. Very sticky problem.

the same problem occurs to me as well. whenever i change the passkey of a particular wireless access point, the iPhone just won't connect to it even if i typed in the correct new key. so my solution to this is to "reset all network settings". (sometimes even "forget network" won't work).
