What I mean here is to use all the components from a ready made unit, transfer into a new enclosure.

Yes u can custom make a 4 slots gang But a bit bigger in size. Quality will be there though.

Are wooden units suitable ? Not of the plywood type tho..

Also my Karldon 5-gang (which I thought it's a quality product) seemed spoiled already, only 3 slots functioning and there's something rattling inside

hi, i got a washing machine which about 10 years electrolux seem recently the timer wont move.. does it worth to fix it or buy a new wan betteR?

Most probably the timer kaput already or the power supply is failing somewhere. If timer gone, i think buy new better. If power supply, need to check first, maybe transformer or something else failing. Usually in this case, timer fails due to its age.

i think should be timer, since there still power tht the machine can pour water in juz tht the timer wont move a budge...
