It's a freaking Festival of the Dead... and not in any good way like Halloween or Mexican Day of the Dead.
I'd be respectful to our ACTUAL fellow Japanese citizens and leave them in peace to respect THEIR customs. Instead of the very Malaysian way of campur everything. |

Many Malaysians are respectful of other people's culture, you know.I'd be respectful to our ACTUAL fellow Japanese citizens and leave them in peace to respect THEIR customs. Instead of the very Malaysian way of campur everything. if you think Malaysians are just simply party crashers, maybe you are one |

QUOTE(Onso @ Jun 26 2008, 01:42 PM) It's a freaking Festival of the Dead... and not in any good way like Halloween or Mexican Day of the Dead. Hell, if I recall. This version of Bon Odori also places more emphasis on Japanese culture (not so much, if any, of Japanese pop culture, mind you). Think of it as a cultural exchange programme courtesy of one of M'sia's Japanese expat societies, not the actual festival.I'd be respectful to our ACTUAL fellow Japanese citizens and leave them in peace to respect THEIR customs. Instead of the very Malaysian way of campur everything. This post has been edited by Parrot: Jun 27 2008, 06:21 PM |

<quazacolt> see!! arent I right on target??
<sailormercury> agrees!! <aiko> either way oso creates airds...jz hw u manage to avoid it the matters..besides, ur special case.. <onso> bon = obon = respecting dead day, odori = dance...so bon odori is the dance to remember and respect the day in which they celebrate in the morning by going to the cemetery to offer prayers and night, dance to celebrate their blessings...so either way, the night ver. is also a festival and the japanese have cordially invited malaysians to share their culture but instead there are ppl ruining it. Still, there are other ppl enjoying it. You can have a pass on this festival cz its your choice |
