KUALA LUMPUR: Bank Islam Malaysia Bhd has acquired an additional 8% stake in Sri Lanka’s first licensed Islamic Bank, Amana Bank Ltd (ABL), bringing its total holding in the latter to 20%.

However, the price of the additional stake was not revealed in a media invite yesterday.

To mark the completion of the acquisition, a ceremony to present the share certificate will be held on April 8 here. This will be followed by the signing of a technical support advisory agreement between Bank Islam and ABL.

ABL started operations in 1997.

There were earlier reports of Bank Islam planning to raise its stake in Amana to 50%. — Bernama

icon_rolleyes.gif Brother vincent_lms , my reply for you is just the same for brother wos. nod.gif No one can predict what the real entry price but be rest assured that BIMB is really undervalued......mind you this is the cheapest
bank share that you can buy in Malaysia. laugh.gif BIMB NTA is 1.33, EPS is 22.01 cents. rclxms.gif

wub.gif Cheers brother vincent_lms.......good luck to you too. rclxms.gif

icon_rolleyes.gif Brother wos, is it for short or mid term?

icon_rolleyes.gif If you figure that BIMB is still worth holding, then even at 1.59 is still not consider too high as the last TP given is 1.80 [minus the proposed dividend of 4.75 cents]. I can't predict the price will fall but I am confident
that it will move upwards......however I leave the decision to make the right entry price. nod.gif

icon_rolleyes.gif I guess there are plenty of hit & run kakis in BIMB too as you always see someone throws away 20 or 30 lots at a cheaper price. shakehead.gif If that guy buys 20 lots earlier and want to make big money, then he must be totally mistaken brows.gif Just wonder how much he can make with 20 lots [2000 shares] for short term instead of holding it mid or long term.....very stupid of this guy to expect to make plenty of money with 2000 shares in a very short time. laugh.gif ........I guess he or she must expect BIMB to go up 50 cent to 80cents in a few days time.....pea brains I should say of this type of kaki. laugh.gif Better to use money to buy penny shares or those PN17 shares,,,,maybe he can strike it big there when people goreng. brows.gif

wub.gif Cheers.

thumbup.gif rclxms.gif Good news, foreigners are buying into BIMB for the past few days. rclxm9.gif Expect more to come later on. rclxms.gif

thumbup.gif Now look at this......

1. On the 12 Jan 2011 BIMB announce this...

5258 BIMB BIMB HOLDINGS BHD
FOREIGN OWNERSHIP IN BIMB HOLDINGS BERHAD

FOREIGN OWNERSHIP IN BIMB HOLDINGS BERHAD ("THE COMPANY")
With reference to the above, we are pleased to announce that as at 31 December
2010, a total of 13,259,467 ordinary shares of RM1.00 each representing 1.24%
of the issued and paid-up capital of the Company are held by foreigners.
The said percentage is within 30% of the prescribed limit allowed to be held
by foreigners under the Company's Articles of Association.

12/01/2011 05:55 PM

2 Now today on 7 Apr 2011 .....this

Type
:
Announcement
Subject
:

OTHERS

Description
:

FOREIGN OWNERSHIP IN BIMB HOLDINGS BERHAD ("THE COMPANY")

Announcement Details/Table Section :

With reference to the above, we are pleased to announce that as at 31 March 2011, a total of 13,538,967 ordinary shares of RM1.00 each representing 1.27% of the issued and paid-up capital of the Company are held by foreigners.

The said percentage is within 30% of the prescribed limit allowed to be held by foreigners under the Company's Articles of Association.

thumbup.gif So to sum it all up, FOREIGNERS had bought an extra 13,538,967 minus 13,259,467 = 279, 500 shares.......albeit small amount but still there is some buying,,,,,so let's hope for more increase buying from FOREIGNERS. rclxm9.gif Previously, they don't buy BIMB but other more established Malaysian bank shares but now they start buying BIMB shares too.......so let's pray that the FOREIGNERS will buy more. brows.gif

thumbup.gif My conclusion, buy more & keep for mid or long term.

wub.gif Cheers to all.
