icon_rolleyes.gif Yes, there's a possibility when people sell cheaper by 1 cent each time......guess, they are stupid as not to wait as I have seen 1000 or 2000 shares thrown down at a cheaper price. vmad.gif Could this BIMB be another CIMB in the making with the full support of the Malaysian government ? brows.gif ........it's already cheap & you still want to have it cheaper? brows.gif
icon_rolleyes.gif As I had said earlier, these people are hit & run kakis and not think of long term knowing fully well that BIMB is a really undervalued bank....ask yourself where in Malaysia you can buy a bank share so cheaply when it's
PE RATIO is about 5 & NTA is $1.33 & EPS is about 23 cents. brows.gif
icon_rolleyes.gif Maybe you all shoot blindly & don't use your common sense when right in front of you is a bank that is selling it's shares so cheap & you still demand more cheaper........ask yourself why you will buy shares like example MRCB whose NTA is 93 cents, PE RATIO is 47.73, EPS IS 5.19 & never pay dividend and still you buy it at $2.32++ cents and you still consider it cheap? brows.gif ....compare this MRCB data with BIMB and what do you get?...you consider BIMB shares expensive & hope for it to go cheaper!!! .......doesn't make sense , does it........ is it lolgical? brows.gif  ........there are plenty more companies like MRCB that I could quote!!
  Cheers.

Added on April 12, 2011, 9:48 amBank Islam: Gives up on Muamalat
Bank Islam Malaysia Bhd has, after two years, given up its pursuit of Indonesia's oldest Islamic
lender PT Bank Muamalat Indonesia. Sources said Bank Islam was recently invited to bid for a
controlling stake in the Indonesian lender, but decided not to because it was looking too pricey.
"The pricing expectations were too high," one of them told Business Times. Sources said that
apart from pricing issues, Bank Islam also became less keen on Bank Muamalat after a closer
study revealed that the latter's business is predominantly in small-to-medium-enterprise banking
rather than retail banking. (Business Times)

The Board of BIMB Holdings Berhad ("the Company") is recommending a final dividend of 1.60% less 25% tax for the 18 months financial period ended 31 December 2010 compared to 1.20% less 25% tax dividend paid for the financial year ended 30 June 2009 ("FY2009"). The variation in a final dividend between the current financial period and previous financial year was due to the followings:-
1) For the 18 months financial period ended 31 December 2010, the Company has recorded a profit before zakat and tax (PBZT) of RM37.2 million compared to RM14.9 million in FY2009;
2) Net profit for the 18 months financial period ended 31 December 2010 stood at RM30.2 million compared to RM13.1 million in FY2009.
3) The Company had on 26 October 2009 announced to Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad on the change of its accounting year from 30 June 2009 to 31 December 2010 with an accounting basis of 18 months

whistling.gif Brother zamans98, you can pour cold water every now & then on BIMB, like  a rattlesnake, viper or cobra you too can inject whatever poison you may like or choose but we the REAL INVESTORS IN BIMB will never, yes I repeat never, believe a single word you say. brows.gif Why can't you be a decent person like everyone else here and buy silently, yes silently at whatever price you may so fancy & not coming here every now & then shouting loudly that BIMB share price will drop to your fancy price. bruce.gif Yes, you can shout until you are blue in the face & we will see. whistling.gif

hmm.gif Hmn, just wonder why you are so jealous when other LYN members are enjoying the fruits of their investment......when the price was around $1.30, you wish or predict that it will go down to $1.25, now 1.60++, you change tactics & tune and hope that it falls below $1.55.........what's next on your agenda, maybe you can look into your gypsy crystal ball again.....

......& then shout further again next & then expect that BIMB will be delivered to you on a silver platter? laugh.gif  brows.gif

Sri Lanka Amana Bank in deal with Bank Islam
Apr 26, 2011 (LBO) - Sri Lanka's Amana Bank has signed a deal with Malaysia's Bank Islam, which is a shareholder, to get Islamic banking expertise.
A company statement said that under the Technical Advisory Service Agreement, Bank Islam will play a "significant role" in transferring Islamic banking expertise to Amana Bank.

Bank Islam has a 20 percent stake in Amana Bank with which it has been involved since 1999 as a strategic partner.

“This business venture was Bank Islam’s maiden overseas banking venture in line with our regional expansion plan,” Bank Islam’s Managing Director Datuk Seri Zukri Samat said.

Samat and Bank Islam’s chief operating officer Jaafar Bin Abu have been appointed as directors of Amana Bank.

BIMB Holdings Bhd has confirmed receiving notification from Khazanah Nasional Bhd and DRB-Hicom Bhd on the sale of their stake in Bank Muamalat Malaysia Bhd to the company.

Its group managing director/chief executive officer Johan Abdullah said he will bring up the matter at the board meeting on May 25, for further discussions.

"They want to sell and have identifed us as a potential buyer," he told reporters after the company''s annual general meeting here today.

Johan said if the board agrees to the proposed acquisition, BIMB Holdings will seek approval from Bank Negara Malaysia, before proceeding to negotiate with Khazanah Nasional Bhd and DRB-Hicom Bhd. - Bernama
