there was an update on SPB Mobile Shell skin for Omnia..
http://www.imarche.net/omnia/index.htm "Customizable SKINs for Spb Mobile Shell 2.1 With this tool you can customize "on the fly" (without soft reset) the look of your Omnia mobile phone launcher application, choosing from different basic skins and a from several background alternative images. Extra options are available to refine the final aspect: menu launcher buttons, analog and digital clocks, weather icons and more. The plug-ins are continuosly updated, so stay tuned to get the last release." u guys should try this... This post has been edited by maks_pain: Sep 8 2008, 10:16 PM |

QUOTE(shahnakal @ Sep 9 2008, 12:47 AM) just install spb mobile shell 2.1 .. but i cant find where is folder "SpbMobileShellSkins" .. anyones can find out? hav u download the skin pack from here, http://www.imarche.net/omnia/download/SpbM...ease1.2_ITA.zip ?After that just follow this instructions QUOTE Installation Instructions: 1) DELETE the previous SpbMobileShellSkins folder inside "My Storage" (or "Storage Card") 2) Extract the .zip file into the "My Storage" (or "Storage Card") memory root; the folder SpbMobileShellSkins will be created (again). 3) Enter in \My Storage\SpbMobileShellSkins\Scripts folder (or "\Storage Card\....") 3.1) IF the script icons are not the MortScript symbol (a letter "M" inside a gray color page) execute MortScript.exe inside the same folder (the yellow icon) - this write in the WM registry the association between script files with .mscr extension and Mortscript. A message like ".mscr and .mortrun extensions registered......." should appair. 3.2) Apply the language patch. 3.3) Execute the script named "InstallMenus.mscr" to create registry keys for options "Games" and "Navigation" into the Spb MS launcher menu and the "Spb Skins" sub-menu inside the Tools option. 4) Execute one or more scripts (Kyro*.mscr o Luna*.mscr) that you can find into the Scripts folder to create a direct link inside "Spb Skins", for faster skin switch. Execute "Original.mscr" if you want the possibility to come back to the original Spb Mobile Shell skin. Points of attention: - If the link into the Spb Skins sub-menu doesn't work, delete it from the Spb Mobile Shell settings and create it again tipping on the relative .mscr script from the Scripts folder. - If in your windows mobile device the "Program Files" folder name is not the italian name "Programmi", edit the value SpbPath in the Scripts\options.ini file, set for example (english): SpbPath=\Program Files\Spb Mobile Shell or DOWNLOAD the Localization PATCH for your language from the official web site. - If you want to install the skins into the optional storage card (micro SD) set into the Scripts\options.ini file the value: SkinPath=\Storage Card\SpbMobileShellSkins |

QUOTE(jimmy.soo @ Sep 9 2008, 05:16 PM) oooh, is it recommended to format/clear the internal storage (after backup) before proceeding with the firmware upgrade? actually is not necessary to clear up ur built in storage (8gb/16gb)..cause i took it to samsung to upgrade my firmware to HH1, they did format everything. but before this when i upgrade myself from G3 to G4, i just follow the instruction written on the samsung website. that time i didnt format/clear my internal storage, nothing happened also leh the only thing i did is i do hard reset my main memory before i upgrade this is just an extra pre-cautious step.. |

QUOTE(iobai @ Sep 10 2008, 03:53 PM) hmm... In general talking about Symbian & Windows Mobile :1) agree 2) agree...but when driving very difficult isit? 3) sd card getting cheaper now adays wor...if sd card ko, can jest change... 4) touch feedback==>can explain r..kinda alien to me!! 5) n95 oso got, but got more. shake n read sms, etc 6) n95 can play all movie. try coreplayer/mplayer haiya bro, i still not very convince la..ahaha think most probably will wait till price drop...but sure prefer omnia den htc diamond or even iphone... if u feel the touch screen is not really important 4u, then u can stick with ur N95.. for me i really need the touch screen especially when browsing internet, navigating & typing.. u dont need to press button 1 three times to get 'C'..just an example.. and there are a lot software u can get (freeware/shareware) + people support.. give u flexibility to customize ur windows mobile according to what u want.. additional good things ------------ a) wide screen 3.2" compare to 2.6" n95 - u will fall in love with the big screen although resolution on 240x400 - watching movie will be fantastic b) bigger storage 16gb + storage card 8gb c) slimmer & looks elegant d) touch feedback is something when u press the screen it will vibrate..only applicable for some apps.. DOWNSIDE ----------- i think camera on N95 much more better than Omnia in term of quality.. some more VGA recording on Omnia very bad... no directional pad.. QUOTE(tercupee @ Sep 10 2008, 04:52 PM) 1. is it normal whenever people were to call me, the ringtone is like some sort of ascending, which means, it is slow at first, then after few seconds the volume is increased. is it always like that? It's a feature from Omnia..dunno about other Samsung phone 2. is it possible to browse internet from the device and i would like to have the display like browsing internet from pc? i dont really like viewing it like a mobile phone. Yes u can..by using Opera (the preinstalled app). The display will be same like desktop. 3. how to use gps? u need GPS software like Mapking or Garmin Mobile.. otherwise u can use GoogleMap but it require u internet connection 4. can i download different themes for my device? if u talking about windos mobile nothing much u can do except u change today screen color, background and text..AFAIK la.. try look at this site http://www.pocketpcthemes.com/extended.asp Anyway u can install 3rd party apps like SPB Mobile Shell, iFonz, Throttle Launcher, Winterface where it will give u an alternative interface for ur Omnia This post has been edited by maks_pain: Sep 10 2008, 05:25 PM |
