anyone notice this.....when u lock the keypad, the volume rocker remains unlocked and thus sometimes gets triggered accidentally.

therefore when u set the phone to vibrate....it may just reset itself to ring and make a whole lot of noice when u dont want it to....happened to me and just figured out what caused it today...

anyone else with the same problem?

hsdpa is high speed downlink packet access. To be simple, its a faster version of 3G. The omnia supports up to 7.2Mbps but not sure if maxis or celcom can reach those speeds.

3G is known to reduce batt life. so u might wanna consider turning your hsdpa off. although u r only charged when u dload, leaving it on will drain ur batt much faster

maybe u accidentally trigger your browser....or google maps...u never know rite...

anyway....i did not update my rom yet.....happy with it at the moment....will wait for all the bugs to be ironed out before i get the new rom..

was advised by the guy i bought the phone from, not to flash the rom on your own. Apparently, at the service centre they have diagnostic software to test the stability of the rom after installation to look for any errors. if u do it yourself, u dont have this test and u may have actually installed an unstable operating software.

my cousin bought this phone .. seriously the 5.0mega pixel camera sux in the dark ...
*
tweak the setting's bro.....theres about a hundred things u could change.....but switch to night mode...

however there are limitations lar....the flash is not that far reaching so dont expect great shots at distances....otherwise night shots were pretty good

no probs with lag lar.....everything is just zip zip.....just that the animation for the screen orientation rotation is slow....but thats fixed with the new firmware.

Think for a windows mobile device....its quick...anyway...my advise to u is to try the phone out before you buy....if u dont like the lag...dont buy it

but personally, i dont find any undue lagging in this phone

hmm....not very sure lar.....if ur friend can give u some specifics on what exactly is lagging...maybe i can help....but otherwise....to me everything seems fine......besides it has the fastest processor of all the WM phones at the moment at 624 Mhz and internal memory that is more than enough for your apps.....

i found some problem again... my batt. was fully cahrged, and then after i wake up at the morning, its goes low batt.  Zzzz i didt play with it for the whoe night no GPS no wireless... just put there in standby mode...got one programe runnig .. is port spilter only...
is that my batt got problem liao .? T.T
*
switch off the port splitter when not in use......it happened to me once before as well....think perhaps the MAPKING GPS automatically connects if the port splitter is on. Another thing, was advised by the guy i bought the phone from was to EXIT mapking by using Tools ----> exit as opposed to cliking the X. Because if u do that, MAPKING remains running in the background. With the port splitter on, then your mapking will try to connect to the GPS and drain your battery

ok will try that... but my i never on my map king .. only port-splitter was on that time. port-splitter will also drain my batt. ?
*
not sure whether port splitter alone will drain your batt......cos i normally never leave my port splitter on unless im using my GPS.

HSDPA will not drain down batt that fast right?.. imagine i just fully charged then another day woke up with low batt notification... :( WT...
*
not sure about HSDPA cos im using DIGI. but in general, when u r connected to 3G your battery will drain much faster even while calling and smsing

*
not sure where pacific is....not sure about penang.....but if u go to samsung shops its probably a fixed price.....u MAY or MAY not get extra free gifts.....but if u want discount....suggest u try normal hp shop and compare prices...

want even cheaper, buy singapore set about 2k+ but warranty only in singapore....not in malaysia

icic ... what kind of extra free gift will i get if i buy from the normal hp shop ?
lolz, singapore too far from penang zzz if i buy this phone from sg and my phone broke within the warranty period can i take my phone to malaysia service centre ?
*
normal hp shop......depends on how u negotiate with the guy lar....maybe get memory card....or software.....but difficult to say.....cos each shop will be different.

for a singapore set.....u still can take to malaysian service centre i guess.....but u probably would have to pay for the service as opposed to claiming from warranty

omnia is a WM phone right ??? what is this phone internal ram ?? i hear from my friends that when the internal memory of this phone is less , the phone will hang very easy. issit true ???

lolz , still need to gv extra payment  cry.gif  then i think i buy it in malaysia better zz
*
yes, this is a WM device.....WM6.1. yes, phones are generally slower and hang easily if the internal ram is not sufficient. The full spec for this phone is on page 1 of this thread including the OS and internal ram.

3 weeks of use....has not hanged on me so far....except for one quirk of vibrating non stop till i had to pull out the batt.

I guess the person who wrote that article is just using the trial version and has not upgraded the firmware.. But anyhow, loads of users who had not upgraded the firmware are still doing fine with the phone.. The writer's just tooo one sided, none of the good specs were mentioned.. He just mentioned bout all the cons (which can be fixed) of the phone.. What a negative person.. Doubt he do well in life!! Pathetic guy..
*
hehehe.....just read the flames he got in the reader response section....

hell....for me......wouldnt trade my omnia for anything....its not perfect.....but hell....its damn good enough!

p.s. like the new thread title......omnilicious....lolz

So do u mean that all app opened cannot be closed fully by pressing the exit button and have to use task manager to really shut it off? hmm.gif
*
think of the X button on all your apps as equivalent to the minimize on your desktop windows.....it minimizes the program but does not shut it off...

Practice using the Menu ----> Exit commands for the programs that have them......or else....hold your menu button on the side of the phone for 2 seconds....and click end all tasks...
