Good bike..good sound...good power, but be gentle on her...
My friend used to have one of this, brought second-hand. Always ramp this bike and after using it for one years he broke the engine valves. The repair bill cost him RM6500... Good luck.. |

This bike is very nice........
But please , need to know that this bike maintenance is same with superbike The valve is small, need to know more about your bike My friend bike is okay No valve problem I mean no broken valve This is not superbike so dont over rev it always Nive if you dont let your RPM be more than 10000 when you want to shift gear 1st geat just in short time, and dhift 2nd gear Another gear if can make sure not more than 10000rpm when you shifting No new production of this bike THe new kawasaki nijna 250 is base model of zzr250 The sound also not same ZXR250 still the best USD fork, high rev , nice looking, low gravity rider position, and many more Dont pulas habis this bike too long time Or you will naik turun engine always Recomended speed to cruise is 140-160kmj Can try the top speed but dont too much Normally can get 180-220kmj top speed 20 second is enough if you want to stay that speed. Need to love ur engine. Spare Rm2k to prepare if need to repair something when you buy it Average price is RM8k-RM13k I can help you to find the bike. Where do u live? ZXR-250 used to be my dream bike last time. But after hearing much about the maintainance cost I shudder and went for the KIPS150 instead. That is nice the ZXR can maintain a cruising speed of 140-160kmh. My 2-Stroke KIPS will jam piston if maintain that speed a long time.

Among the 250 ninja, the ZXR250 will be the most "superbike" look and feel. Come with all the goodies but unfortunately with only 250cc and 4 cyclinder and heavy its power to weight ratio not that great.
Expect no more 40bhp from it! But because of its high rev nature the zxr250 does have more sound/show than go. It will have hard time to keep up with those 2 stroker racer is RS125 or worst of all rs250 or even the suzuki Gamma RGV250. The new 250c ninja should be a 2 cyclinder design which is a very old design. I have the 2nd generation 250R Ninja back in 1990 when I was a college kid! |

Anyone selling this bike in Penang?
Found a dealership asking min. RM 13,000 for a heavily used '97 ZXR 250C, with 69,000km on the odo. That's pretty steep - but after test riding it, nearly bought it. Side by side, the '08 250R is much more handsome and will definitely turn heads when parked next to all the other 110cc Lagenda's. But the ZXR250 will turn heads when going WOT from 0-100kph in less than 4 seconds. The sound is similar to a 600cc bike if not better. If anyone is selling a newer one, or better condition/lower miles - I'd buy it. |

zzr 250 come with 2 exhaust, 12valve, while zxr 250 come with 1 exhaust and 16 valve, tat's why the sound is more "garang"
besides, zzr seat is more flat(more comfortable) compare to zxr which is more to slope(putting most of the body weight on ur arms) i personally prefer zxr, becoz of the look and sound.. but my mechanic told me,it's more expensive to maintain zxr than zzr Year 95 zxr shud cost around 7-10k, zzr would be cheaper, but depends on condition as well, hope it help.. |

zzr is sport touring bike, while zxr is a superbike.Thats why they have different riding position. save u money a lil bit, and buy bigger cc bike instead. ZX7 still looks nice, average price around 17k(H & L ) to 33K(P). Anyway you can go to malaysianbikers.com.my to find used zx2.

my advice,
don't take zxr 250.i own it. over 2 years using it, still today using it, as daily use.from bukit mertajam to penang island, i got to say the FC is not good compare to other bike.mainttenance? same like other forumer said, at least spare 2 k in pocket when someting broke down. some one up there asking bout carburator, carburator itself cost half of the bike, y go buy, just service it. beacuse it come wit 16 valve, and the valve size is just lil big from ex5 valve, it can patah or bend easy. my recommendation, go for new ninja 250r. its free troble. |

Yes, the sound is attracting...but once u put up ur fullface,n maintain at steady speed i think u wont hear the sound too much...i owned it for 1yr only. For me it was very tiring, can feel the pain in neck and arm, maybe my riding position was incorrect la. THe heat oso awesome, the weight could be killing too. Yes, like all Sifus said, maintenance quite scary when things broken,if normal services not much also la...(of cos if u wan to own this kind of bike, don't compare to Cub types, even a rear Cyrox 16 tyre could cost u Rm390, but if u think this is expensive, woooohhh then drop the dream of upgrading to bigger bike).
FC is not much oso, travelling around 100km (few mins jam) only cost me Rm7, i dono how this sound to u but for me is ok. But IMHO, go for ER6N better, btw m looking it too just lack of $$ n permission now. 250 is really underpowered, can't get much feel of wat so called SUPERBIKE, not even close to it. BY using Rm12k bought a 1997 yrs old machine, beter go for newer one (sound is not an issue as explained above). BTW, i was really regret of not getting a CBR F2 600, man it was just Rm24k during the time i bought tis zx2r. Just my point of view, hope it helps n mohon maaf if offended anyone. |

I have use the zxr250 for a year now and the advice I can parted is get a good condition one. If by luck you got a bang up one, $$$
The ER6N is a nice choice too but not so much in a city trafik. Nice looking bike with good speed. But still kena tapau at Ulu Yam and bukit tinggi by zxr250. Hehe!! Believe me when I tell you even R1 got tapau by zxr250 in sharp short corners. Will lose out when you are in highway only by the liter bike power. Maintainance wise, every bike is the same. Take good care of it and it wont let you down. I have seen friends bike that look like sh*t and the owner said the bike is like sh*t. The truth is the owner treat the bike like sh*t. If you treat an R1 like that, it will look like sh*t too in no time. Do a google of "zxrians" and you might find a big group of zxr riders. Hope this helps. |

tapau-menapau is depend on each bravery .. if you ride a R1 but scared-scared chicken to take corners .. even a mat rempit with rxz can tapau you.
ninja 250 is a good bike and better with after market exhaust system .. 'two brothers' system are my recommendation. it sounds even yummy than yoshi slip on muffler. |

QUOTE(asrulz @ Nov 12 2008, 03:59 AM) tapau-menapau is depend on each bravery .. if you ride a R1 but scared-scared chicken to take corners .. even a mat rempit with rxz can tapau you. haha i agree .. he should go to the trackday at sepang .. those sbk get smoked at corners by kapcai .. haha .. ninja 250 is a good bike and better with after market exhaust system .. 'two brothers' system are my recommendation. it sounds even yummy than yoshi slip on muffler. in my opinion, two brothers are meant to be with zx2 .. zx2 is a high revving bike and two brothers are like .. making it sounds more high revving .. LOL .. bassy on idle .. high pitch on high rev ... last time my cbr also use that muffler .. i like that muffler .. QUOTE(mikeair @ Nov 12 2008, 11:13 AM) i've fren using zxr250 with shimano, shimana exhaust (something sound like tat pronounciation), damn nice the sound, even better than most of the ah beng's car exhaust...haha haha .. comparing car with a bike .. dushh ... like comparing an apple with a ninja .. |

almost the same lor .. the sounds come from the high revving engine design .. the exhaust muffler just change it abit ..
it like a kancil putting a rm 30k exhaust system for a ferrari still sounds like shit .. |

As for me that owned this bike for 3 years now....I got to say...
If you got extra penny,go for 500-600cc....no matter if it was old model or retro classic....since you will be suffered to upgrade for more "OMMPHH" like myself... but instead all you spending goes to this bike & trust me,if you use the bike for weekend machine maybe its OK,but to use it as daily bike is killing your $$$ slowly & the maintainences can be a nightmare due to tiny part that rev like F1..... The simptom is noticeable if you use it for long period without changing the engine oil... Anything along the lines of 10w-40 to 20w-50 fully synthetic is needed for this bike to avoid false neutral, hard gear changes & perfomances Now I running my bike with Sikollene syntethic oil...but it not really good when the temprature getting higher as my gearing for neutral always "missing",compare to last time when I use Q8 SBK Fully syntethic. With tiny parts, especially valve & anything related to it....it definately needed to warm up the engine if the engine was cold....so the engine internal part can last longer.... Now its 3 year already & I detected my bike has blown the rear signal light, faulty starter(needed to "cluthcing" at right moment when pressing the starter)& the engine sound which is quite lousy at 8-9k RPM...... Its a good bike but if you like to trash it on track like me.....better make it as weekend bike or take 500-600cc sportbikes....it will be a good day for you for more than 3 years before you reach it potential top speed(which I have pushing my bike to its limit so many time & I desprate to upgrade oledi....) |

QUOTE(EyraYus @ Nov 13 2008, 09:01 PM) not really "riding" now Yes...true dat!but now I own a ZX150, imagine almost same speed with ZX2 but with more insane cornering speed and throw-in I own both bike & trust me.....I get more feedback due to its lightweight & taller seat,& it still can ride comfortable at 160-170 to its best at 180 km/h(but to reach this speed the ZXR250 is better since there was little vibration in both chassis & handlebars, also at peak of 10k the ZX2 will have more lightness to reach it potential at 220-240km/h at 17-18k...) But cornering wise,ZX150 do a better job since it was 2 stroke.....the only thing you need to worry is 2T pump... other than that you can just snap the throttle at 3rd & highest gear for cornering without any worry since there is no silly smaller valve that cost you a $$$++ to repaired & replaced..... |

QUOTE(adioz88 @ Jun 10 2008, 07:41 PM) This bike is very nice........ all of the motor here not nice la .. RXZ also kasi masuk ka But please , need to know that this bike maintenance is same with superbike The valve is small, need to know more about your bike My friend bike is okay No valve problem I mean no broken valve This is not superbike so dont over rev it always Nive if you dont let your RPM be more than 10000 when you want to shift gear 1st geat just in short time, and dhift 2nd gear Another gear if can make sure not more than 10000rpm when you shifting No new production of this bike THe new kawasaki nijna 250 is base model of zzr250 The sound also not same ZXR250 still the best USD fork, high rev , nice looking, low gravity rider position, and many more Dont pulas habis this bike too long time Or you will naik turun engine always Recomended speed to cruise is 140-160kmj Can try the top speed but dont too much Normally can get 180-220kmj top speed 20 second is enough if you want to stay that speed. Need to love ur engine. Spare Rm2k to prepare if need to repair something when you buy it Average price is RM8k-RM13k I can help you to find the bike. Where do u live? ZXR400 hp around 56....
but I dont know coz never get a chance to ride it but I have tested GSX-R400(Sing.plate) & CBR400RR(NC23 Msian plate) BTW.....GSX-R even peaky but like Yus said...nothing cant match RS250(Tested before...almost buy it but I cannot take 2-strokes as my another "daily bike"...even ZX2 also ikat perut time skolah...) If you really want a 400 sportbike......Zey Sportbikers at semenyih got 2 400 sports with Msian plate.....that was ZXR400 & GSX-R400...(CBR400RR has been bought already by a girl...) P/S:yus pesal tak call tadi...aku nak lepak ngan ko leerr....abg aku ada gak ni... |

ZXR is differ than ZZR, i try to run both in about 100km in distance.. looks ZXR have better starting but ZZR can maintain performance along my way...

QUOTE(IronMaiden @ Jun 10 2008, 06:24 PM) The current 250 sounds okay as well, though in my opinion it doesn't sound as good as the first (previous) ZXR 250.You can get used ones for under 10k (I've seen 7k ones, etc.) But for really well taken care-of, low mileage bikes, expect around 10k. And yes the ZZR is more towards the touring category. GTR1400, ZZR1400, etc. They've got nice proper seats and big gas tanks, ideal for long-distance touring. |

acceleration can be either slow or fast, depend on how you ever care about the throttle......I not really whack the engine since it had a puny, small valve which can be crushed if you always pull the engine to the limit....
but mostly when TD,I pushed it quite a times to have a good top end at the straight which I preferly said it takes around 5 seconds for 0-100 if the bike pushed hard at first 3 gear(around 10k-13k) yes no doubt it quite hard to maintain especially if you always rev it high in order to have more torque, but I has use the bike for 4 years now & with simple maintainences like oil changes, oil filter, valve checkup & clearence...I can say the bike has a good engine for smaller I4,F1 like replica for street...trashed in TD,street, top speed run, climbing a steep uphill road(since it was my house territory) but still depend on how much you take care of the bike.....even my last run with the bike before stooopid driver make me accident & damaged the bike,it still can hit 200km/h easily....& the milleage clocked at 98,500+ km..... |

QUOTE(mozact89 @ Aug 26 2009, 01:16 AM) do u all know about this?? Power-to-weight ratio rule!! Ninja 250R speed 140kmh, ZXR2 160kmh. ninja 250R speed 160kmh ZXR2 187kmh, ninja 250R speed 180kmh ZXR2 210kmh ninja 250R speed 185kmh ZXR2 225kmh ![]() have seen City modded with mugen bodywork with full black colour & mugen stripes chasing RS250 today at MRR2.... But as far as I know,ZX2R(Inline 4 model) are lot faster.....reaching almost 190 km/h with GPS reading.....thats is far more than the new 250R.... as the user myself I have tried it alot of time with the owner of 250R & ZZR250,be on track or convoy.....& that was no surprise behind it as the ZX2R got more cylinder for better revving & top end, sumthing which 250R didnt have, but honestly the low end torque & city riding,I choose the new 250R anyway...... |

QUOTE(Cyprid Dark ii @ Aug 26 2009, 02:57 AM) Power-to-weight ratio rule!! new ninja250r is not for racing n not fast enough to beat zxr.. it is suitable for beginer... the top speed ony can go around 160kmh-170kmh for stock model.. but many of my friend can go to 180-185kmh by changing the exhaust system, air filter, and dynojet kit.. but u can compare the speed with other vehicle with my review...have seen City modded with mugen bodywork with full black colour & mugen stripes chasing RS250 today at MRR2....
