Here the photo quality for Nokia N82 vs Nokia N85 vs Nokia N95 8GB vs Nokia N96 Camera Flash Test in Darkness. nothing can match xenon flash.

and

Nokia N85, N96, N79 - Does Double LED Stand A Chance Against The N82?

hopefully newer firmware of N85 can enchance the image quality of the phone biggrin.gif
*
For Darkness, yeah, it is.
But how often do someone really takes pic in darkness.
Maybe useful for taping on bed video laugh.gif

Other than that, N82 has no other pros compared to N85 except its price tag.
I still think N85 has some room for improvement.

The most important one is to make NAVIWHEEL available for all types of menu. Secondly, please allow me to use the keypad when browsing whenever the phone was rotated. Lastly, please reduce the price again thumbup.gif

that im aware of and besides i think that it is no problem. later i go search the source i was reading review of it.

ok i when digging all my history and found it

N85 wobbly slider

after reading make sure see the video. thanks
*
So thats wobbly?
Yeah, it behaves like that.
I dont find it a problem though. Its good that even when you press the bottom part, it still doesnt scratch against the bottom part. If you tap the bottom of the plastic (below d pad) can see it moves a little. Its a design problem. I dont think you can make it a solid piece when all the keys are in 4 different direction and if they had used a solid piece, it would break after prolong usage.

1. This I can help you. Its the same for every phone. Instead of making the shortcut point to messaging, change it to New Message. This way after you send the msg, back to front page. No all people know this trick.

Those buying AP sets, is Nokia Map included in the package? I asked my friend who is a phone shop dealer, saying AP have something in difference like cannot fully support some software due to like non-ori firmware sort of thing compared to Ori. Just wondering if its true. Cause the prices for both is quite a margin.

EDIT : Not to mention the battery might not be original anymore with AP set.
*
QUOTE(craxors @ Nov 23 2008, 11:39 AM)
last time when to phone shop asking for AP set, they said need to add another RM50 if want to use the nokia map...if ori set, no need because already installed...i ask some sellers here in garage sales, they also said same thing...
then i ask is there any others function that are not in AP set...they said only the nokia map..others are same...
*
I really dont know got such difference. Im not using GarminXT also. I also din ask Renee about it. But my nokia map is definately working. Just install Nokia map and download all the map you want la. I already loaded South Korea, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia and HK map.

Hai All of you..
i just wanna ask your opinion about this Hp..
i just see and try the handphone at Nokia,The Garden beside Mid Valley and in my 1st impression was so "wow!" drool.gif  but then, after i try the speaker, the audio quality just sound like "pecah" doh.gif . So, i wanna ask, is that true the Sound Quality of the N85 quite not so good as N95. Because early next Dec08 i wanna buy a new N Series. Now i use My N73 with i very satisfactory after i purchase it thumbup.gif . So,can you guy's help me about the problem or give me an idea which hand phone suitable with my criteria? rclxub.gif
*
I dont find the sound pecah. In fact better than my sis N78. Just a bit softer than N78.

QUOTE(Qool @ Nov 23 2008, 04:22 PM)
thanks yupio for the settings but i still can't really make use of the wifi. Do we use infrastructure or ad-hoc mode? I can detect my SSID and connect to it. but when i browse the net... it loads like a few hundred bytes.. then it'll stop completely. just hanging there. other times it'll just stuck at 0kb... anyone can help on the settings?
*
I think your router wireless performance is poor or you got many interference. I have no problem at all. When using my old router, the range is not very good and speed also ok ok nia. But since I change my router to Extreme N, range is good and transfer speed is also 2~3x faster.

No prob bro....mine's CSL

Added on November 23, 2008, 5:21 pm

yeah, my AP set will be able to update fine as its exactly the same as the Zitron / Avaxx set. For a confirmed answer, will have to wait till a firmware update is available.
My CSL AP set have 12 months warranty on LCD, 15 months warranty everything else.
It'll be Infrastructure mode....funny though, mine works just fine...try other browser??

Added on November 23, 2008, 5:45 pmReporting 1st incident of N85 freeze.

I've switched on Menu Transition and for the first time, when a call comes in, the ringer did not ring but the screen shows Incoming Call but then I press the green (receive call button), the phone did not respond. All other buttons pressed also did not get the phone to respond. End up, the phone auto reboot with the NOKIA word and white background then goes into main standby screen.

I go into Call logs, the call did not register as missed or incoming call.

Overall with the menu transition switched on, the interface seems lagged. Will try it for a few days, if it gives prob, will switch off.  shakehead.gif

Honestly after using it for more than a month, still no hang or whatsoever.

Please refer to previous replies regarding phone package and also usability, reliability and so on. If you cant find your answer, then only you post here.

If you feel lazy to do so, you can search the Handphone Trading section and see for yourself what kind of package that comes with the phone. Besides the question is a little naive, given that most if not all the phone that has a memory slot comes with a memory card nowadays. If you were asking for the size of it, it would still be forgivable.

Im saying this because there has been enough replies on the package that are being offered here. Thats why we have the search function in thread nowadays. Sorry if I sounded rude but lets keep it purely for user to post their review/problem encounter on the phone.

*
I would suggest you keep your mouth shut when you got nothing to offer here.

Basically, why I suggest using the search function is thread is to repeat repeatative answer for the same question. Some of us who bought from Renee/CyNetwork already listed out what are the thing that are included, warranty and how well the phone is serving us. Its just that some people like you got NBTD and wanna start flame war out of nothing. This is a phone support forum where users share how the phone is doing. If you want to ask about phone package, can search in Garage Sales or Handphone/PDA Price & Dealer guide.

need guide!!

under positioning method, what should i tick?? hmm.gif
-bluetooth gps
-assisted gps
-integrated gps
-network base

thanks...
-------------------------------
got it smile.gif

- Bluetooth GPS - Allows you to use an external Bluetooth GPS unit with the phone instead of its integrated one. This would be much cooler if it let you use the phone itself as a Bluetooth GPS for another device, like your laptop, but no. sad.gif

- Assisted GPS - Just like integrated GPS, except the phone will make use of its data capabilities to download information about its current location to improve its tracking speeds.

- Integrated GPS - Bog standard GPS functionality. Without AGPS however, satellite lock-on may take a few minutes rather than seconds.

- Network based - Collects positional data from the surrounding network towers to 'guesstimate' your current position. Accuracy depends on the number of towers in your reach. This does not cost anything to use (no data charges!) and may use less battery life however it is not nearly as accurate as GPS.
*
BTW, how do you feel about the performance of the GPS?
I feel its really weird cos it doesnt seem to connect to the GPS at all. Now if I turn GPS off and then turning it back on, viola, its connected liao and locking position in less than 30sec. Software error or firmware error? Lastime when I didnt turn off the Assisted GPS, no such problem. Im still figuring how to get the guide going. I already downloaded the voice file but there doesnt seem to be any guide in the favorite menu.

if compare this N85 with N95??
Which one is good r?? hmm.gif
*
Two different phone, what is there to compare.
You get what you paid for really.
Personally, I prefer N85 because its new, looks good and smaller than most N series.
Besides each N series introduction seem to introduce better speed + enhancements.

QUOTE(samurai1337 @ Nov 27 2008, 10:31 PM)
Guess what, NSU is able to detect N85 now.

I guess it won't be too long till the next firmware is released. A surprise christmas gift from nokia perhaps?
*
Hope they fix:-

1. Accelerometer not being sensitive enough when the phone isnt straight up. (ie. no rotation when phone lying on table)
2. Camera - make it less prefered to use the high ISO when taking picture without flash
3. Enable keypad when using browser in horizontal mode (rotated)
4. Improve GPS locking without turning it off and on again

not really understand what u mean...is it u cannot use the GPS at all?? hmm.gif
i did test the GPS last night using garmin...lock about 5min...A-GPS disable...use Intergrated GPS only...locking position did take some times, but after that its great.. i did try to use diff route from what it state in the garmin, and the phone re-calculate route is fast enough for me to follow... very satisfied with it..smile.gif

**this my 1st GPS device..so dont know if u guys said slower or faster than other phone...its good enough for me biggrin.gif
*
What Im saying is that the Nokia Map works.
THe problem only exist with the GPS locking.
When I start up the phone, the GPS doesnt seem to be able to get signal from the sattelite.
Now if I turn off GPS and then on again, it lock on almost immediately. This is why I said it was strange.

Mr Andrekua..
may i be specific??
in temps of audio quality, which one are quite good compare n85 with N95??
Please.. Do help me.. I still confusing about this thing..
i want to buy N85.. but i want to confirm(really2) to know my choice is the right choice.. notworthy.gif
*
Well, I have tested N95 at Nokia centre but I didnt really compare the speaker quality before.
Usually things like this come second to my mind whenever I buy a new phone.
Sorry cant offer any opinion about this.

When I buy a new phone, usually I will evaluate the new aspect of the phone like OLED, Software, Firmware, Speed, Usability and the annoyance of it. I rarely compare speaker quality because IMO, LOUD != QUALITY. If wanna compare quality, plug in a good headphone and hear it yourself. N95 is a very matured platform thus stability and speed isnt a problem at all. I just dont like N95 due to the key being small at the front panel. Keypad however is very good. But still I love the LOCK button in N85 which remove the annoyance of having to unlock manually when using it with one hand.

I just figured out why my GPS isnt locking.

I recheck my setting for GPS positioning. Turns out I had Assisted GPS ticked and Integrated GPS tick. Now I went on and untick Assisted GPS and now whenever I on GPS, it will lock on the sattelite pretty fast. Almost instantly if Im near the window in my house or on open space.

Anyway, it does show on my bill that I was charge about RM2 for GPRS. I think its for the assisted GPS.

Working great... and got chinese, malay and english default language after changing the product code... no need go Telstra service center anymore...
YAY!!! rclxms.gif rclxms.gif rclxms.gif

I can say the phone is now a bit speedier with the menu and animation transition also alot smoother especially when auto rotate. Nokia Map is locking almost instantly with only Intergrated GPS. Best of all is the accelerometer now a bit more sensitive to the movement than before. Will check out more tomorrow to find out anymore pros.

Somehow NSU was downloading quite fast at 130kB/s before crawling to 20kB/s for the last 30MB. Still managed to get it done though. Tomorrow I will inspect the camera.

I do feel that AUTO mode still sucks. Plenty of noise. Most of the picture here I shot using my own setting except one which was shot using AUTO mode and still can see alot of noise. Picture 9 is using manual mode, while 10 is using auto mode.

Could it be your location that affect the receiver?
Honestly, even though I did say that mine could connect almost instant, but there are times when it wouldnt even connect for up to 10mins. But still I didnt face the disconnection issue like you did.
