i just got an SE k810i, AP Set, and there are a few things that made me feel not quite comfortable this is the first time i buy myself a hp (previous hp was a gift and had been using it for 5yrs), so not sure about the things below..

1st, when i receive the new handset, it came with the box, but it is not wrapped. i thought the whole box should be wrapped and not opened before until i unwrap it, isnt it..?

2nd, the IMEI number on the box does not match with the IMEI number in the phone system. i have done some searching in LYN and found that this is quite normal for an AP set, so i guess this is ok... the IMEI number match with the one at the back of the phone though..

3rd, i thought there should be a warranty card from sony ericsson, but instead what i found is a warranty card from a private company shown below:

- card inside (promoting games, wallpaper, ringtone etc):


- card outside (details about warranty):


as u can see in the pic, the company say in order to get the warranty, i need to send them an sms. but according to the dealer who sold the phone to me, he say no need to sms the company, just send the phone to him to repair it. the dealer does not work in the company, i think. i got it from his shop in PJ and i noe him thru another friend.

so, what i wana ask is, are all these things normal, or did i get conned...? and btw, should i send the sms to the company for the warranty (with the risk of getting spammed and charging my credit) ...?

1st...its not wrapped...

2nd...its normal for ap phone (for ori, shud same)

3rd...coz u r buying ap phone, so there will be no sony ericsson warranty card...se warranty card only for authorized phone...ap phone will get the ap company warranty card only....n if u buying phone from big ap company (eg: csl/comsat n etc), send back the warranty card, but if small2 ap company, the shop where u bought it will give the warranty for the phone....

ooh, like that eh... i guess wat u said solve all my worries and confusions ady so, the company in the pics is considered "small" and i do not need to send the sms to them, right .. thanks alot for the info ya

btw, regarding the 2nd matter, how come the IMEI on the box does not match with the IMEI in the phone? why is that so?

ap set, they randomly pick a box for it. that is why.

wah, like that one oso can ah... weird ler..
meaning, the box and the phone are separated 1 la? but how come like that? the phone should be tgther with the box 1 ma, isn't it?

how much u buy the phone?
comes with memory card how big?

AP set different from ori set that comes with box..but AP,usually come with hp set oni..and the seller need to find box and other accessories by themselves..correct me if im wrong.

quite gud on average price for AP set nowadays..

affordable to buy an AP set nowadays..

I have Nokia 6030 AP set with same IMEI in phone, phone sticker and box. AP from Impact mobile distributions sdn bhd. Dont know how they do that.

the ap distributors get those sets in bulk, and then open all of them, check for their condition, put on stickers etc and then simply take the box of same model and sell off to the shops.

or the storekeepers take the sets out from the box to be put on display and simply take a box of same model, when the display set is sold.

but for ori set, the store keeper will not take the sets out from the box.

so sometime you might get a box of same imei as the phone, but rarely.

sometimes ap set also can hv same imei number....but rarely la...so if u do get one...u can be consider lucky la

well thats wat u get for not buyin ori..anyway just remember keep the receipt with the warranty card,cos some ap company want u to show the receipt also

for expensive toy errr i mean phone, always buy ori or from big AP company.

Nowdays all AP company phone imei is not same as the box anymore...
