How you deal with such retire money every yrs when div, fd is changing?

Every yrs, park money here and there, in and out bank etc?

Teach us something so I can prepare when retire come.  smile.gif

You just have to manage. Start early. i wished i started even earlier.
50% of my investment holdings are NON Msian currency based. That's a start. Since 2008.

I am heavily into SG REits as they do not have any tax on dividends. They are certainly better than FD rates! And the SGD has earned me lots in Forex too.

Gold. I have been in gold since 2002. Its a stabiliser to my investments in bad and rocky times. It's also a currency hedge on the MYR.

My investments in KLSE is pretty small. Maybank since long time ago.

The rest is EPF. If EPF keeps on reducing, i will probably remove more out of this.
Finally, FD is only for emergency funds.

So mostly you don't change much the portfolio? Each sector have it cycle time. Hgh to low. bad to good. So you got to constant monitor the income?

But I realize since you're retire, you have more time to manage the finance.

I neglect my investment cause occupy by my busy job. But MCO slow me down to check back and re think my investment.

I plan to takeout all the EPF when retire. After realize that it is not what I can control and no confident on the gov flipfop policy. What do you think?

My strategy now is 50/50 between KLSE and US investment. But can see US stock are gain faster. At the same time need some steady income from bank div too.

Recently reduce the MY Reits as it getting worst. So not into reits anymore.
*
Yes. You still have to monitor the companies that you invest in. Anything can happen.

I am actually not retired yet. laugh.gif

I will maintain some in EPF. You have to realise that when you are not retired and retired, your risk profile is different.
US is not so great for dividends due to the tax to foreigners. 30%
If you are looking at stocks gains, then you should not be near retirement at this stage.
At retirement, you want stable stocks with some yield. Not something like Tesla! laugh.gif

i never bought MReits. Sreits are much better.

As long as they will payout 40-60% as promised by them.

i think if they do not pay out as they promised, the stock price will crash, since most investors are in it for the dividends.

Don't think there's written agreement saying if failed to give quarterly dividend. Then can c/wrd to next qtr or end of the year/final dividend....

If u can. Find the agreement..
Please do share...

As long as they are giving within their guidance of 40 to 60% pay-out if their earnings.

Yup.
Around that range..
So even skip for certain Qtr..
Total can fullfil the overall payout.. then it's non issues 🙏
So if calculate from total previous dividend of the financial year.. Already hit 40% or not? 🤔
*
You won't know till next year what the earnings will be for the final dividend.

I'm not advising you on anything, this is just my take on the matter. A good guru teaches you how to buy, a bad guru teaches you which to buy, but I'm neither. A crash may or may not happen, but when it does, I'll be vindicated and laughing on the sideline.

Shorting wouldn't be a great idea in my opinion, while I do believe a crash will eventually happen, ASB is acting as a resistance factor. While the market will go down eventually, you might not be able to remain solvent for that long. "The markets can remain irrational longer than you can remain solvent." - Keynes.

Stashaway and Wahed.

ETF is buying a fund which has pool of stocks so your risks are diluted compared to individual stock. gains also diluted.  yes correct. but usually people buy ETF to hold not for active trading.

If wanna buy Malaysia ETF can just use the usual brokers, hong leong, rakuten etc.
Stashaway and Wahed.. one year in.. lowest went to -20% back in march..now SA gain 12%, wahed gain 20%.. just by doing nothing and deposit every month. can sleep at night peacefully laugh.gif

Sure can sleep peacefully?

you have to fill in a survey first before they allocate your risk. alternatively you can choose the highest risk index as well.
