Anyone think Maybank may defer their dividend payment?
*
I don't think Maybank will follow. It will be bad for ASB/ASx/EPF right? These guys use realized gains accounting and bank dividends are a big part of their profits.

I think dividend cancel and drop price then

This qr next qr no profits where can pay dividend
*
no profits? The interest rates for the moratorium still jalan even tho not compounded. The worry is what comes after. Loan growth and NPL.

Anyway, I won't be adding bank stocks for the next few months.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it won't automatically drop. It's not like unit trust. It may or may not drop depending whether people are selling or not.
*
It will drop at open, as bursa malaysia will adjust the price down. Whether once it drop, it will go back up or further down will then depend on market forces.

Thank you so much for the explanation !
Yet everywhere people still go for dividend stock, whether individuals or big investment. E.g. UT will say dividend fund to give constant income vs growth funds. Now I'm confuse whether should choose company that gives dividend or company to aiming for growth.
*
It doesn't have to be either or. I own both. Roughly about 2/3 dividend stocks that pay more than 5% yield and 1/3 growth which pays little or no dividends.

2. Once Bursa adjusted the price on ex date.
3. Sell the share on ex date (10 Apr)

so long your name is on the ROD as at 5pm on the entitlement date, then you will be entitled to the dividend.

in msia, our system is T+2, so given if you are still holding the shares on the ex-date, then you will be entitled to it, even if you sell the shares 1 day after the ex-date.
*
U can sell on ex date and still get dividends.

I'm looking at their dividend history. Why is there a FP2011 instead of the normal FY every year?

There was a finiancial year change in 2011.

Strong headwinds for banking sector ahead. Next month need to see if BNM cuts OPR again. I think they will. After that, is what will be the NPL situation after the 6 months moratorium ends.. How many SMEs will bungkus and how many ppl will be jobless?

not sure what's the rationale for another OPR cut. there's no place for consumption, businesses are also not running. gov already provided moratorium and micro loans.
*
Right now during MCO no.. But you will need ppl to spend-spend-spend once MCO is relaxed.
