Correct me if I'm wrong, but it won't automatically drop. It's not like unit trust. It may or may not drop depending whether people are selling or not.

Meaning friday morning will straight deduct 0.39 at opening. If everyone sell once got the dividend then will drop further

Yet everywhere people still go for dividend stock, whether individuals or big investment. E.g. UT will say dividend fund to give constant income vs growth funds. Now I'm confuse whether should choose company that gives dividend or company to aiming for growth.

1. Hold the share until 1 day before ex date (10 Apr)
2. Once Bursa adjusted the price on ex date.
3. Sell the share on ex date (10 Apr)

so long your name is on the ROD as at 5pm on the entitlement date, then you will be entitled to the dividend.

in msia, our system is T+2, so given if you are still holding the shares on the ex-date, then you will be entitled to it, even if you sell the shares 1 day after the ex-date.
