QUOTE(Jordy @ May 6 2020, 12:13 PM) Still can buy back at around RM7.40, why do you need RM7 so badly? If you are a long term investor with confidence in MBB, RM7 or RM7.40 also will be the same. Latest MPC statement says BNM expect inflation to be negative this year (deflation). Which is why, even with the recent 50 bps rate cut, some analyst are expecting another cut later this year.. 25 or even another 50!My average cost is still RM8.50, even if MBB pays 47 cents in dividend for FY20 (my projection), I would still yield 5.5% (2% higher than inflation projection). Your cost of RM7.40 would still be yielding 6.35%, so why worry? Right now I'm on "hold" bank sector.. Not buying until perhaps last Q. This post has been edited by Cubalagi: May 6 2020, 12:20 PM |

QUOTE(moosset @ May 6 2020, 03:28 PM) no particular reason, simply a price I'm willing to pay. Maybe got another chance in the future. All the market timers say got second leg down which will go below March low?I've hold MBB for years. With the last minor purchase, my average price is around RM 8.50. Want to bring down my average price more. OPR was the ray of hope that I had but didn't have any effect QUOTE(moosset @ May 6 2020, 03:28 PM) Reinvest in what? |

QUOTE(Jordy @ May 18 2020, 10:03 AM) Means you do not reinvest the dividends? I look forward to any dividends coming in each month. I will add the dividends (if Malaysian stocks) + some extra savings and put it into brokerage trust account.Excel is a little bit tedious if you have a very busy schedule. Like me, I started off using Excel to track as well, but then I couldn't keep up and most of the time I had to check every stock's history to update my list. So I thought of just using my monthly statement to keep track of my dividends. I just print and file in my statements. End of the year I just look at the figures to compute my yield. That was I am sure I won't miss out on any records and it won't consume too much time. Problem is after that hand become itchy to buy something. |

QUOTE(bmwcaddy @ May 19 2020, 01:21 PM) Im on HOLD banks, not adding. Reasons: Margin compression due to interest rates cut with possibility of further cuts this year. Recession risk with potential spike on NPL. Definitely expecting a dividend cut for FY2020 for Maybank. But what turn me off the most was that Malaysian banks are now doing national service by giving loan moratorium and being asked to waive interest for HP loans. Good for the borrowers and the rakyat, not so good for its shareholders. Last entry was at RM7. 21 in March. Will only add if it goes below RM7 or economic news confirm to be much better, maybe 4th Q will be more clear. |

QUOTE(rocketm @ Jun 24 2020, 11:11 PM) Yup, heard some forumers in this post mention that September will be lower. Maybank was down to RM3+ back in 2009.However, if I am not mistaken, maybank seems like do not have share price lower than 5. I am using Google to see their price. I also hope other forumers to give their opinion. Maybank is just buy and hold. It's price will follow the economic cycle. When economy recovers and inflation starts to tick up, it will go back to RM9, maybe even RM10. In the meantime, just enjoy the dividends. However, be prepared that dividends will be cut for FY20. Don't expect the bumper dividends of FY19, which was 64 sen total. I saw one analyst report that expect just 40 sen. Of course the Q is when will the recovery happen. |
