Latest MPC statement says BNM expect inflation to be negative this year (deflation). Which is why, even with the recent 50 bps rate cut, some analyst are expecting another cut later this year.. 25 or even another 50!

Right now I'm on "hold" bank sector.. Not buying until perhaps last Q.

I saw dividend already in my bank account. What u guys do with the Maybank dividend? Spend, keep in savings account, invest more shares?

Maybe got another chance in the future. All the market timers say got second leg down which will go below March low?

Won't know, until they announce a new scheme. Old DRP program has expired.

I look forward to any dividends coming in each month. I will add the dividends (if Malaysian stocks) + some extra savings and put it into brokerage trust account.

Problem is after that hand become itchy to buy something.

Im on HOLD banks, not adding.

Reasons: Margin compression due to interest rates cut with possibility of further cuts this year. Recession risk with potential spike on NPL. Definitely expecting a dividend cut for FY2020 for Maybank.

But what turn me off the most was that Malaysian banks are now doing national service by giving loan moratorium and being asked to waive interest for HP loans. Good for the borrowers and the rakyat, not so good for its shareholders.

Last entry was at RM7. 21 in March. Will only add if it goes below RM7 or economic news confirm to be much better, maybe 4th Q will be more clear.

Maybank was down to RM3+ back in 2009.

Maybank is just buy and hold. It's price will follow the economic cycle. When economy recovers and inflation starts to tick up, it will go back to RM9, maybe even RM10. In the meantime, just enjoy the dividends. However, be prepared that dividends will be cut for FY20. Don't expect the bumper dividends of FY19, which was 64 sen total. I saw one analyst report that expect just 40 sen.

Of course the Q is when will the recovery happen.

Next week Tuesday is BNM MPC meeting. Will there be a another cut? Out of 12 economists, 7 say cut 5 say hold.
