My parents drove a Pajero IO 1.8L GDi engine if not mistaken, it gave them problems such as the car would stall all of a sudden and we couldn't receive Malaysia radio channels. The car was purchase when it was launched @ Malaysia through Naza.

Added on September 28, 2008, 9:46 amIn the end we sold the car and the buyer changed the engine, it's also underpowered.

I think the GDi version is kinda rare on the road. What did the mechanic say about it???

maintenance wise, expensive, 1 tyre 600 ringgit.

not yet plus petrol. summore petrol are going up,

not surprised that its selling cheap.

my dad change the Isuzu trooper tyre.  1.5k for all 4 since friend price.

but if no friend price .. got 2k gua.

most older 4x4s are not monocoque-constructed, so you can't say driving one of them will definitely make your life safer no matter how big they are

Hey guys,do you all realise that Pajero IO is a mini version of Pajero...not like the normal Pajero which go off-road + big, expensive off-road tyre,Pajero IO use low profile tyre wink.gif

Pajero 2.6 petrol model are famous for thier gas guzzler behavior,2.4 petrol are better,3.0 V6 are a smooth and fuel effiecient engine the most fuel economy one is the 2.5 Turbo Diesel and 2.8 Turbo Diesel, diesel model pajero are more easily to maintain and more reliable, for off-roading event diesel engine dosn't suffer from dipping into water as it dosn't have electronic ignition system,as long it can suck dry air free from water even the whole engine dip into water also can still run so this is perfect for off-roading wink.gif

Pajero not safe...what a joke,if you see a pajero MK1 with bullbar on front hit a proton saga at speed of 50 Km/h,you see what will happen to the proton saga and the Pajero...

Im thinking to get this Pajero IO 1.8 auto......but im still looking for the satisifed answer....i hope this thread will go longer so we can share and discuss about it.....

i think it's a rare pajero. it's very cute though.
Maintenance wise, i m not too sure. But fc is defintely more than a sedan.
It has higher sitting position for better driving.

Tyre should be from RM 2xx a piece. More or less kembara size tyre.

My house have a Pajero but not IO.. It 2.4cc using petrol. What I can said about that car is GOOD.. FC is wise. pump RM80 can go 300km+-. About power, it more great especially at highway. You won't feel that you are hitting 160kmh. My house Pajero was maintaince nicely by my dad and do some modification. The suspension already cost him Rm2k+.

The thing I dun like about it is, about the wheel.. It so expensive. Rm400++ per tire.

My dad's pajero tire blowned once after changed to cheap tyre... sweat.gif

Why not just take suzuki sportage? FC is much better, people will afraid to bully on the road also.. flex.gif

Suzuki Sportage.....what car is that i didn't hear it b4 blink.gif

Pajero IO is more cute, reliable, and more stuff to play....you think it was a city machine, then i can say you are totally wrong, the Pajero IO also equiped with 4WD with a Mitsubishi Dakar Rally winner Pajero SS4 system that won't lose to any off-roader in the same class brows.gif

The 1.8 engine engine can churns out 141PS and 181N.m of torque

While the more rare 1.8T model producing 192 PS and 270N.m of torque

These engine is carrying only about 1200Kg of weight so capable to 170Km/h without difficult....it are good natured at both city and off-road driving,it's 8 Inch ground clearance give the SUV such good for off-road driving yet give a sporty feel when it's on tarmac.... and the Pajero IO are enought wide to provide a very confortable ride for 4 Adult and resonable space for Adult, this SUV is a good car to drive around city or use as Workhorse as the Fuel Consumption is at 10Litres/100Kms....

So you consider yourself lar which one you want whistling.gif
