QUOTE(liette` @ Jun 22 2008, 01:33 PM) Hey, actually right, everyone say pump syrian until fat fat is good... but then again, in all animals, dog , cat, rabbit, u name it, being fat isn't healthy? Actually if the hamster is less than 4 months old we need to pump them up to be bigger in size not fat. During that 1st 4 months are when they growing in size that is why we need to pump them up with smoothie and fresh veges. After 4 months old then they are unable to grow in size anymore but can gain more fat.or is a fat syrian actually its appropriate size? p/s : i need serious answers, not nonsense like 'fat fat den cute ma'. Hun, We just got a baby red eye dove banded from a pet shop in Pudu. Looks like less than 2 months old. Very bear bear look and looks like he's going to be a long hair type. Now starting with the smoothie and fresh to make the fella grow in size. Tooks some pics but the camera with Sangels now. She will post the pics later. QUOTE(irkuysm @ Jun 22 2008, 04:09 PM) What do u mean here, izzit for dwarf hamster like WW also??? Well I'm not a dwarf hamster expert but I assume that we can also pump all the hamsters during their 1st 4 months. Hope some pro can enlighten this topic. Anyway I can see that during the 1st 4 months for my syrians do grow in size first with all the fresh veges and smoothie diet they have. After that they are gaining fat Btw,which pet shop at Pudu u mention here??At the pasar or the one that got a lot shop?? The pet shop is near the mosque and Petronas. Can't remember the name. They do have a nice sable banded there also. Also cream banded and umbrous or golden banded. Didn't get it cause we decided to get just one syrian only. |

QUOTE(liette` @ Jun 22 2008, 04:13 PM) Thanks blurjoey. Well big and fat to the correct size but not overweight. Those syrians in UK can weight until 200 grams and that is the hamster standard weight there. So basically, a big syrian means a healthy one, not a fat one. Kinda confused as many people here keep saying,'pump him/her fat fat to the max'. Currently our oldest syrian, JackJack, is about 135 grams only but think he have been gaining weight from the smoothie diet. Added on June 22, 2008, 4:25 pm QUOTE(jayniel @ Jun 22 2008, 04:17 PM) i think blurjoey means syrian dove banded.. Hun mentioned that dove are red eyed. And the new dove banded we got is red eyed. Still small and needs to be tamed as he is scared. First time hear syrian make sound when I transfer him to his new home. Didn't know syrians were vocal also.so blurjoey, i rmb sangels last time said that she wants to have a dove/dove banded syrian... well, dream come true liao Added on June 22, 2008, 4:27 pm QUOTE(irkuysm @ Jun 22 2008, 04:22 PM) Then i tried experimenting my 1 month old WW to see how izzit going. The pet shop is closer to the chinese temple than the mosque or petronas. Just a few shops away from the chinese temple.I didnt know there is pet shop near there, lazy to walk..lol that far...xD. I always check the pet shop @ Pudu near the construction site. This post has been edited by blurjoey: Jun 22 2008, 04:27 PM |

QUOTE(liette` @ Jun 22 2008, 04:31 PM) Alright. Made a mental note. Literally speaking, it's almost impossible for any Syrians in Malaysia to be overweight then. Am I right on this? Overweight not sure but obese yes if fed with all those not so healthy and fat/salty food which mentioned by CrazyMouse earlier. My Syrian made noises too when I brought him home 2 days ago. |

QUOTE(vergas @ Jun 23 2008, 08:07 AM) The normal 2 feet tanks or any other size tanks have feet. You can actually stack them up. There is a gap when you stack them up to allow airflow. The cover of the tank have edges that allows the tank to be stacked up nicely in place.Added on June 23, 2008, 8:59 am QUOTE(jayniel @ Jun 23 2008, 03:01 AM) The dove/mink (to be confirmed later) was terrified and you want us to hold in our hands? He was screaming and trying to jump/escape when we trying to hold and get a better look at him before we bought him. Doing so would make him more stress and prone to wet tail disease. Also what if he escaped while in the car? There is so much place that fella can hide in there. How to catch him back?If he was tamed it will be a different story. QUOTE(UNDERGROUND @ Jun 26 2008, 04:23 PM) I fast fast snap picture just now and let her settle her new home, damn she is cute ! I think she is not tamed yet. That is the same with our new mink banded. The mink will try to hide in his wheel, the toilet bowl, etc...I guess it's cinnamon banded ? Confirm not cream banded. Maybe the orange transparent plastic makes her looks like a golden banded. When i approach the cage she went into the wheel and run very fast Showing off ? |

QUOTE(sangels @ Jun 26 2008, 11:40 PM) Black Banded is not easy to get here and it's rare about half a year ago. Shop owner also know that a lot of people are actually looking for rare color Syrian, of cos they will raise the price la. Just like Pet Family, Syrian RM25, buy 1 get 1 free, but black banded no free. RM25 each cos they have a lot there. The one I bought - Fumoffu is the only Black Banded in that shop and they claim he is imported from oversea, may not be trusted but rare color, I willing to pay the price at that time. He is just a good boy and I miss him. The black banded selling in pet family is sable banded. Pet family try to make extra $$$. You so fast forget d? |
