Vaseline is some kind of petroleum jelly and it's also a brand. Just go to Watson or Guardian and ask for it. Only few ringgit. Can use for anything which for lubrication or moisturize, just a bit oily. For me, the ants powder is still the best as I don't like my place get oily by applying 'oily' thingy. Just my opinion. It don't have any smell, so your hamsters won't get to smell it, but can't eat it cos it's petroleum jelly. Ants will redirect themselves as their sense is covered by the Vaseline, but doesn't mean they won't appear again as they are just re-direct their road. They might be end up appear at another place after few days.

Petroleum jelly will only masked the scent trail the ants created. It's a temporary solution. Also it will leave the place you smeared with petroleum jelly greasy and it might leave a stain on painted walls. The ants do come back as explained by sangels.

Sangels been using the ant powder since last year and today no ants near our hamster tanks. Plus it's just a small amount in the sauce plate nearby. No greasy mess.

Actually Ferro frequently walks around with his eyes close. Like when he woke up but smell smoothie, he malas buka mata. The eye can open when he's awake lar. But I'm not sure if his condition can be called sticky eye a not.

My minks also sometimes never open eyes to go around their tanks.... but it is not a condition. They just sensitive to light. Ruby and red eyes are more sensitive to light. That's why black eyes open bigger.

Hey, I tried to give the supplement on its own to both my hammies today since they eat less of their smoothie when I add the full 1/2 teaspoon into their smoothie. I added water with a lil honey and make it into a ball like thing. Roche ate a bit and horded the rest into her food bowl (for everyting she wants to keep and considers food). Ferro had 0 reaction to it. How else to intro the powder supplement to them?

It's a pretty boring island if you like to go outing.... I get stuck there mostly every chinese new year...

Yeah, kinda. I have been reading all kinds of guide and comment because i still have 6 more days to wait for my cage to arrive, very itchy now to get the hamster. 
I'm not sure to get a Syrian or a WW because when i went to the pet shop today, a few small WWs kept running circle with only 2 legs when i approach their tank, then all the Syrians are sleeping, those WWs really amazed me.

My house? LOL.... messy.... I haven't clean up my pets yet. I also need to see if the timing alright or not.... see how lah.
