How about Exposure 3010s (110w/ch - around RM 8k)
integrated amp pairing with SFCD? Read review from Audioart (Taiwan hifi magazine #232) also June 2008 Stereophile magazine reviewed by Art Dudley, not bad though. It's UK design

I thought Exposure is very suitable for Epos spkrs?

it is atacama actually. just found out the box.. lol

it's about RM 20 per biji if i am not mistaken. too long time already forgot.
but i am sure it's about that
i spend more than RM 150 for all 8 biji.
even close to RM 200, but i can't be so sure with the price.
Interesting for such small shoes. Anyone selling below RM200?

car_o_scope, can buy on behalf and send (courier) over? blush.gif TIA.

Since there are many SF sifus here, I am curious to know abt the performance of these for movies :

user posted image

The av receiver probably not able to drive it perfectly. IMHO, a multi-channel pwr amp is a MUST in order to bring out the best of SF.

Perfect Hi-Fi has this system being setup at their showroom?

Bro,

It would be a hefty price to pay once acquired it. For such a gem, it needs to be paired with some gears that are on level on it. Have to buy a better int amp or maybe pre/power combo. Krell would be good but sweat.gif Then, a good CDP or maybe CD transport with a matching DAC. Siao.... rclxub.gif

Might ended up with over RM50K stereo setup, which is totally out of my league and budget. Still earning peasant income.

Hopefully, I can own it one day wink.gif Still itching to know how does a complete SF 5 spkrs sound for a movie setup.

First of all, wow, you've been a lurker since 2005 and this is your first post haha. Welcome to LYN.

The Guarneris are a great pair of speakers if monitors are your kind of thing. Any advice on pre/amp would be dependent on your (1) budget and (2) type of music that you listen to and of course your (3) sound signature preference. I've read people having great results pairing them with McIntosh MA7000/MA2275/MC275 (I'm partial to Mac as you can see), Pass Labs INT-150, Jadis DA88s and WAVAC MD-805m.

What do you have in mind?
*
Saw a pair of very good condition of used Guarneris with its ori stand at Audio Image in PJ.

I knew someone who owned this model. He is using Krell KCT pre amp with Krell KSA-100. Source is ClearAudio vinyl. He has a group of audiophiles. Suffice to say that he is proud of his system even though it is one of the least expensive among his peers smile.gif

Oh do you enjoy your Travagans more than the 650? You need to start poisoning more headfi users to move on to hifi so you can start the journey together. Makes things more interesting smile.gif Take it slow and enjoy the journey, but don't make the mistake of thinking just 'one step up,' or you'll end up buying and then wanting to change too soon, costing you more $$$ had you just taken the hit at the start.

In my honest opinion, a hybrid is a hybrid and a lady boy is a............... boy ...The HD220 is a good amplifier, but there's always a trade off. Since you're dealing with Alvin, I'm sure he'll be more than glad to let you do an A/B test to compare between the HD220 and the other AR tube amps. See which sound you prefer with what you listen mostly to (classical in this case). Buy with your ears or eyes if you're into tube p0rn smile.gif
Used Guarneris? Nice.. I've never been to Musical Image before.. I need to go one day to pay a visit and see what goodies they have.
Beauty in the eye of the beholder! Glad that he's happy and satisfied with his Guarneri setup.

Ooopps... My BAD blush.gif Probably thought too much on Panny AE-4000.

It's actually Audio Image near SS2.

Be prepared to be posioned by Magico and Soulotuon there.
