so wat's up lately??? kinda quiet in here.....

anyone here upgrade their amps???
*
Not a SF owner, but upgraded to a proper pre amp to partner with my Class A power amp. Previously, using an int amp as pre with the power amp.

Very good improvement in every aspects. The vocal is even more airy and a bit more forward. Still very tall. The details and imaging are drool.gif Happy with my upgrade smile.gif

Got a friend who recently bought a pair of SF Toy Tower about 2 weeks ago for just under RM6.2K, and spent 4 hours+ playing LPs non stop on his Rega deck.

one word the describe: AWESOME!
Although the spec is rated to only 45Hz, but when playing hard rock and concert music, really feels like its thundering own to 38~37Hz region.

For this kind of price/performance .. nothing can beat a SF Toy Tower this round.

What amp is he using? The Toy series is quite easy to drive as its sensitivity is at a reasonable 89dB and impedance is 8 ohm.

I was told that the Toy Wood looks gorgeous. I think it should look like the SFCD. Too bad that the Toy Center only comes in 2 black finishing w/o wood.

Yeah, look gorgeous haha but need to pay extra for it, merely 10% more on the cost of the leather one. Toy is quite sensitive and relatively able to be driven by many amps. The problem is, to drive it well is not easy. This speaker is too sensitive and your system weakness will be revealed easily if not paired well. My toy sound so nice in the mid region while really lacking of body in high driven by Marantz PM6003 (This amp really good in vocal) but when I plug my toy to PCworkk system, this little monster sound so stunning....
I have always curious to know how SF performs for movie hmm.gif

Maybe I should get Toy Tower, Toy Center as well as Toy Wood to match it with the fast paced Rythmik F12 to see how it fares. Or maybe 2 pairs of Toy hmm.gif Aiya, the Toy Center will stands out like a sore thumb in black if Tower and Toy in wood doh.gif

I do not have problem driving any of it since I have a few amps (int amps as well as pre/power) to do the job and that includes a Krell 200W power amp rolleyes.gif

I am curious on how my toy sound with krell also, anywhere to audit it?  tongue.gif
Bring your Toy over. Take a breeze weekend drive to Seremban tongue.gif It's just 30mins from Serdang.

Then, I can know its sound characteristic. We can try it out with Krell int amp as well as pre/power if you want.
