Ya, you're right. It was created when Franco Serblin was researching for better conductors for the internal cable of the Stradivari. After that, Sonus Faber might have implemented it into the Amati Anniversarios. But it will definitely match Sonus Fabers, since it was created by Franco

Eh.. PcWork, when are you going to share your review of the Amati Futura sound! You're one of the very privileged few in Malaysia to have heard it! Sharing is caring

haha
me not qualify lah.
even play a cremona to me already i super impressed already...
anyway i could just share some of my though after have a chance to hear the sound of futura...
previously i had some shifting of my personal preference toward wilson audio shasha.
but until i hear futura. imho. futura really pawned shasha in every aspect.
don't be fooled by the size. it is really small. as big as a cremona only. and it is really quite small compared to amati anniverserio (perhaps they utilize stainless steel top and bottom panel, as well as back bone and no longer require excessive thickness to provide the rigidity if compared to wood)
but the solidness of the sound is yet one of the VERY best i ever heard from all sonus faber i ever listened.
bass punch.. is unforgettable...
it's super fast. and bass texture is seriously best among sonus and imho better than shasha ( i didn't get a chance to hear fenice though. that speaker were ship directly to the owner house and never stop to the show room).
and i am seriously surprised with the DOME tweeter, i though it will be the bottle neck of the sound since previous amati using ring radiator tweeter which were superior in disperse of sound....
but on futura.. the high is indeed WIDER than amati anniverserio.
and not to forget, that the futura is BRAND NEW, 0 hours run in, and just taken out from the box..
the high is seriously refine without even slightest harshness in the sound across the whole spectrum...
and the amp used that day were just a small bodies Linn Klimax
on the look. i admit i really like amati anniverserio., it is so elegant, and so high class built on the wood.
on the other hand i not really like the blending of stainless steel + Wood in futura.. it's kinda.. not as classic to me...
however i have to admit, the sound of futura is very very obviously one big step above anniverserio..
imho it's well worth the price tag of extra RM 40K from amati anniverserio. and i can understand why the fella grab it on the spot..
