Mebbe for @Gabanyayaya, the Thicker cable means the BETTER sound ??

Then I would sincerely recommend @Gabanyayaya to look for this orange coloured cable called "Welding Cable". Not cheap. Like RM35/meter!
But rated to 400AMPS DC. Damn F*CKiNG THICK & HEAVY also. Guarantee sure is "best in the world!" sound one! (at least for @Gabanyayaya). Easily available at most Hardware shops and also Car spare parts shops.

@Gabanyayaya,

i no play play one !!

This cable ah, the price even fluctuates to follow the world market price of raw copper. Rated to 400Amps is not for small boy's toys one.

This cable is as thick as your thumb or maybe even slightly thicker.

If this cable is normally used to Jump-start a Mercedes v8 engine, imagine the power it can let your amp deliver to the speakers!!!

Please just Sonus Faber only.

Guys how if B&W 803 Nautilus compare with Grand Piano/Toy Tower?
both is at same price range and Nautilus is B&W flagship brows.gif
Nautilus sound sould be better since they use better material and design?
*
This is like comparing BMW vs. Mercedes. Which one is better ?
Can anyone say "mercedes" better because they use "better material and design?".

And who decided that ? @InF.anime ?

There is a pair of s/hand SF Guarneri Homage at Audio Image for sale. Previous owner traded it in recently for something else.

The glossy finish is really nice on the Guarneri and those matching stands are really a sight to behold. They just don't make speakers with such craftsmanship anymore.

But expect the price to be even "nicer". LOL...

Got a friend who recently bought a pair of SF Toy Tower about 2 weeks ago for just under RM6.2K, and spent 4 hours+ playing LPs non stop on his Rega deck.

one word the describe: AWESOME!

Although the spec is rated to only 45Hz, but when playing hard rock and concert music, really feels like its thundering own to 38~37Hz region.

For this kind of price/performance .. nothing can beat a SF Toy Tower this round.

What amp is he using?  The Toy series is quite easy to drive as its sensitivity is at a reasonable 89dB and impedance is 8 ohm.

I was told that the Toy Wood looks gorgeous. I think it should look like the SFCD. Too bad that the Toy Center only comes in 2 black finishing w/o wood.
*
The guy is using it with an Exposure Series2 amp. Very dynamic sound.

And yes, this Toy Tower is with the wood side-panels.

The SFCD has better weight and slam than the Toy monitor, but the Toy Tower would outperform the SFCD in just about every aspect already.

I think there is another pair of Toy Tower, probably wood finish also that will be going for under RM6K as well. Some new hi-fi shop guys brought it in for the KLIAV show but the stock came late or something... so now they just want to sell them off at some super bargain price.

Relative newbie here. Have an old Sansui system from years gone by. Now thinking of restarting this "poisonous" hobby.
Looking at a naim uniti with either the toy tower of audiophysic sitara.
Music type - pop & rock.
Any suggestions/advice?
*
Sitara is extremely poisonous. The latest model is the Sitara-25 from the 25th anniversary range.

But Sitara-25 goes for approx RM10k'ish (i think), while the Toy Tower can be had for just under RM6K.
Sitara-25 also doesn't have the side-firing woofers that is the hallmark of the Audio Physic performance.
The entry-point for Audio Physic's famed side firing woofers would be the Tempo-25. This would set you back RM17~18K thereabouts.

Otherwise, both are quite comparable but both also need good amplification.

Naim ? Too bad in MY, Naims are just crazy overpriced locally compared to global prices.

Just to clarify:

Toy monitor goes for about USD1K, if the country's importer get a good discount margin from the factory, and taking into account the prevailing tax rate, then it is no surprise that some shops would be able to offer for slightly under Global retail prices.

Added on December 8, 2011, 10:15 amapologies to Theng_ye, street prices is actually rm3.8K for toy monitor.
i heard wrongly from my friend.

so 2.4K s/hand should be quite a good deal.

but when u put toy monitor side-by-side with toy tower, then the toy tower can really give alot more slam and lower octave bass !

Like the old saying: "you won't miss what you haven't got". But once if u have "kena racun" on the toy tower's full-bodied sound compared to toy monitor, then it is very hard to go back already.

so sometimes, ignorance is bliss also ! tongue.gif

There are many amps that can sing well with SF... Exposure, Odyssey, Audio Analog, even a resurgent China/Brit Audiolab can be very musical to partner with a decent SF speaker that wont break the bank.

Historically, SF and Krell even have a long synergies dating back to the era of the SF Extrema and the Krell KSA/KST era amps.
So much so that when Krell launched their first ever aluminium enclosure speaker, it was a "permission given" replica of a SF Guarneri shape.

But gone are the days of Dan D'agostino and Franco Serblin; Both respectively out of the companies they founded many years ago.

So it all comes down to how well the equipment can partner up with each other, and more importantly, how well can someone make the whole system match well.

Home demos, although not popular in our part of the land, would always be the safest best for the consumer to try new stuff out in their own familiar environment.

Added on December 9, 2011, 11:00 pmjust to add, both old hands are back with a vengeance ...
Dan D'agostino with its Momentum monoblock poweramp, and Franco Serblin with the latest flagship, the Ktema Proscenium speaker (was demoed at KLIAV 2011 recently).

Actually room acoustics (incl. room size) would be >50% of the sound. Equipment is only 20-30% of the game, at most. But in this age of consumerism and hype marketing, it is the easiest to splurge on, including a whole bunch of snake oil accessories and tweaks.
