can ask if cheap compressor can work also with air brush? heres the link http://www.lelong.com.my/Auc/List/2007-01D...-Compressor.htm
*
I STRONGLY DO NOT recommend you use this for air brushing.
To start off with ... u wanna power this with you car batt or AA batt? tongue.gif
And i dun think the air pressure is stable, not to mention using it constantly for more than 30 minutes a session

mr.hobby topcoat flat matte (blue packaging) and mr.super clear flat  matte (grey packaging) , which has a better result ?  doh.gif

i dont know which to get as both give out same matte flat effect..  icon_question.gif

It's the same thing. Just bigger or smaller can only. But the grey packaging one got 1 is with UV protection. Well ... unless u plan to bring ur gundam to a beach picnic ... that wont be necessary.

shakehead.gif Again and again ... these kinda info can be found all over the internet. Please do not use the excuse that you are new in this and expect ppl to spoon feed you with info. Guys common ... it's not very hard to juzt google up info. Or atleast do a search in this thread first. Don't be lazy. Do your research. vmad.gif

3)Any suggestion others than gundam marker?
You can try wash technique with enamel paints. How to do wash ... ask google. But if you do not plan to color your kit ... why ask?

Paint or dun paint is really up to you. If you just wanna take this as a casual hobby, then I dun suggest you paint, but you can do panel lining for the least.

Painting require alot of patience and ... well ... money biggrin.gif

Found a place to get replacement parts for your Gundam and Zoids.
They don't offer everything, but it's worth a try.

Want to know if it is ok to clean water based painted figures with water before applying top coat?
*
Never try before, but i suppose a quick run through of water won't do much harm. Just dun scrub it. But don't take my word for it. So far I only use oil based paints which is lacquer and enamel, much stronger than acrylic paints.

ookay ~ but if u remove the excess water with tissue , then it will become dry right ?
bit confusing ~ rclxub.gif
*
It's just removing the excess water. Means water thats sticking around the decal when u first apply it.
Removing the excess water doesn't mean the decal is dry. Blowing the decal with a hair dryer will make it dry smile.gif

You don't really need to apply softener, unless your decal falls across a panel line or if u are decaling on uneven surface.
After softener, DO NOT touch the decal at all, cos your decal will spoil very very very easily. It will first look abit crupple, but after it dries, it will look very nice.

Wat you should always apply is Mark/decal setter. That will make your decal stick better.

As for the warm water, it will help with "melting" the glue from the paper faster. Other than that, I dunno any other advantage of using warm water. Any sifu can clarify this?

hi guys,
can some 1 teach me how to draw a very thin and light panel line using the gundam marker pen on gundam??

izit i need to wipe off some after i draw a thick line so it become thin @_@?
*
just draw following the panel line on the parts. Then use a rubber to rub off those that are thicker than the panel line. If the marker has aredi dry up, then use a cotton butt with thinner to wipe instead. But dun press too hard on the panel line or u risk wipping off everything or worse ... mess up the whole panel line.

Gloss coating also helps with the capillary effect for panel lining because it provide a smooth surface for the paint to flow, but that's if you are planning to use this method of applying panel lining.

Glossing can be done with the Mr. Hobby Top coat spray or any thing equivalent. For me, I use FFA (Future floor acrylic). It's a floor wax. Can get from Ace Hardware. Need airbrush to apply.

Hi Guys,
I tried posting in the Q&A section but I think this is a more specific question.

Does any one know where I can get Mr. Super Clear UV Cut? I only know of Time Machine in Time Square but they are constantly out of stock. Anyone can help?

So far from alot of comment I read, Alclad II still the best brand for paint that can achieve nice chrome effect. But gonna cost quite abit. Mr Hobby super metalic oso got some good feedback, price is more or less same as Alclad.

Never heard anybody apply alclad with hand brush. I assume it's a bit too thinned to use with hand brush. on top of that, if u use hand brush, u might end up with brush stroke which wont look very nice (unless you are only applying it at very small area), thus wasting the expensive paint.

You can get alclad at Hobby HQ @ fraser business park.

Masking Neo very hard to get accurate shape unless you have panel lines. Masking Neo is good for masking those hard to reach joins area, but not so much on the flat surface.

Wao ... RM275 ... can get a Titanium Unicorn ... >_<

Anyway, I dun think you shud sell it. A broken part can be fix easily with the above mention method. If you are up for it, you can try recast.

This give you a good opportunity to learn advance model building =D

Any cheap solutions for washing painting accessories (palettes, brushes, plastic cups) from acrylic paint?

Isopropyl alcohol. Can get this from pasar road. Can be use as thinner for acrylic paints oso.
But generally, acrylic can be wash off with water. Unless you left it there for days and it all dries up dy lah.
